Okay, I have been using Picture It Photo Premium 9 and I like it, but I'm not sure it has everything to do all the brushes and shadows and stuff. Thinking about moving to Digital Image, I would rather purchase the Standard since it is much less expensive, but does it have the tools I need? I would appreciate any input. Thanks!

If there is any way that you can.... get the suite! In all the microsoft programs you have to use brushes as PNG files, and not in the same way that Photoshop uses them, but both standard and suite have the shadows and effects that you are missing in Picture It!. What I think is great about the Suite is you get the Digital Image Library which I think is the most effective library program out there for scrapping. I would say that this one tool would make it worth getting suite.

This is what the library does: when you buy a scrapping collection it is all in different little folders, sometimes as many as 10 or more! Now that is a pain to find stuff and have to go through every little folder to see what is in it. DIP Library sees into folders. You point it to your scrapbook supplies folder and you can scroll through every item inside or outside the folders and preview them. Then if you really want to be organized, you can paint them with key words like color, item (paper, alpha, ribbon etc. ) and even prioritize them to how high of a priority it is to scrap those pics!

I learned scrapping on with Picture IT! and got totally addicted. I bought DIP 10 Suite and I loved it. Now I have PSCS2, PSE3 and Photo Impact, and I still use the DIP library.

If you want to save money I would look into finding DIP 10 Suite on line somewhere. From what I remember DIP 2006 didn't really change that much and it is still their premium priced program.

SO maybe that will help. You will be happy upgrading though either way. There are just some things that Picture can't do. :)

I hope that helps.
Happy Scrapping,
Melissa Renfro

Wow Lissa! That was great! I have DIP-Suite. I love it! (but it's the only thing I have had....teeheehe) But I did not know that there was a library thingy on it! I will have to play around with that! I am new to this digital scrapbooking stuff and have download several kits. And I am already finding that I am getting aggravated opening all those stupid files just for one paper, etc. So anyway....i said all that to say thanks for bringing this up! :o) Hope to get organized soon!
