Dh just found out this morning that the unit in Nebraska is deploying before he can join them, so they are assigning someone else to that command. There currently aren't any openings for him as a commander, so if nothing opens up before he finishes school in June, he'll be assigned to a position that the Army needs filled. So, we are back to not knowing what is going on or where we will be moving to.

I'm bummed because I was looking forward to Nebraska. Maybe we'll end up there at some point; it's all out of our hands. I just need to sit back and wait patiently and see what His plan is. And that's not a strong suit of mine, lol!!!

Prayers that they will figure it out soon. The Army always has been a "hurry up and wait" organization. ;)

Thanks, Elisha! I love his voice and message. And Dee, the military's motto should be "hurry up and wait".

He has his plan, and will reveal it when the time is right. Patience, it will be wonderful I am sure when you know.

Carla - I hear you! I do not like not knowing and sitting back and waiting patiently! But He has been working on me in this regard for a long time and I know now that He was preparing me to be able to handle my current situation. I can tell you that when you let go and let HIM do His work - amazing things happen and with no effort on your part at all. I pray you'll have the peace to do so - HUGS!

Carla - sorry to hear that Nebraska is off the cards, especially when you were looking forward to it so much. Such is the joy of the military life. Keep us posted (no pun intended!) though. We are due to find out where we'll be off to next in the next month or so as well ... maybe we could end up in the same unknown place!! :2468who-do-we-appreciate: Keep smiling and thank YOU so much for all that you do for this country!!

It isn't??? LOL. I can certainly emphathize with you here. "We" spent 26 years in the Navy, and I understand how frustrating it can be sometimes.

Dang Carla, I was looking forward to another Nebraska SG! It will all work out. Somethings are not meant to be. But you might have to make a trip to the zoo since we talked about it so much. :)

Sorry to hear that Carla, I was looking forward to having you be within driving distance from me. One time we had orders, had been packed and the day they were going to load the truck, orders got cancelled, others had household goods already shipped wehn the orders were cancelled. maybe the new assignment will be even better.

Hmm, it seems to me there are lots of good military bases in Missouri! Maybe we MO girls need to send up some specific prayers :-)

Thanks for all your responses! I'd love to live closer to any of you. I'm sure we'll be happy no matter where we end up, because we will all be living together under the same roof! I'm excited to see where we go, now and in the future.

I just saw this. Sorry to hear that Nebraska is out. "Hurry up and wait" sure is the Army way! I am hoping that something better opens up for your family in the future.

Oh, dear, Carla - you didn't need this bump in the road right now - I am so sorry that Tim's orders may be changed - that's the military for you - they can do that and if it helps, it doesn't happen that often - really, it doesn't.............thinking of you and praying that whatever comes along will be good. Sometimes a change in orders can be wonderful - maybe you will go to Hawaii or somewhere nice and warm! Who knows? But on the good side, the countdown is very, very small - 2 days and a wake-up? Woo-Hoo!
