Okay, I'm late to this thread, and this one is probably best for day 1, but hey, better late than never! :D

Guess what this quote is referring to...for me, at least! :D

Thanksgiving Day comes, by statute, once a year; to the honest man it comes as frequently as the heart of gratitude will allow. ~Edward Sandford Martin

Seems there's been some interest in rejuvenating our favorite quote exchange....so I'll bump it up and give you a quote for the day.

Since this week I am cleaning out my closet and dresser to donate things I am not using, today's topic for quotes is clothes. Here is one I found that resonates with me right now.

If honor be your clothing, the suit will last a lifetime; but if clothing be your honor, it will soon be worn threadbare. ~William Arnot

So often I love to add a quote to my LOs, on my desktop, to my siggy, on a card. There are tons of great quotes out there, we have an ebook of quotes, there are tons of books just for scrappers with quotes, but I love to browse the online quote sites there are several and I've got four bookmarked in my browser. Let's start our own library here. We'll pick a topic of the day and make a list here in the first post and add a quote on that topic. Let's see how many we can get. if you use one, tell us how you used it and if you used it on something in the gallery, give us a link.

Today I'll start with attitude. Been trying to adjust mine here recently and some of the ones I found really do help.

Day #2 Teamwork see post 12

Day #3 Perserverance see post 18

Day #4 Guests see post 24. With the holidays coming up, many of us will either have guests or be a guest.

Day #5 Food So many of us will be preoccupied with food today, shopping for it, preparing it and tomorrow, eating it.

Day #6 Thanksgiving see post 32. Have a wonderful holiday everyone.

Day #7 Shopping Of course the topic of the day is shopping...its Black Friday. Go out there and get some great loot.

Day #7 Scrapbooking There are some great quotes about scrapbooking out there. After all, that's why we're all here. Hope you have happy scrapping today.

Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same. ~Francesca Reigler

Here's one from one of my favorite songs by Casting Crowns

"Not because of who I am, but because of what You've done. Not because of what I've done, but because of Who You are."

Another of my favorites is in my siggie - from a musical I did in high school with my youth group called "Won by One"

Here are a couple I use when I'm not feeling like working out:

"A year from now you'll still be here. In better health, or worse - the choice is yours." - don't know where I heard that first but I know I heard it recently on Dr. Phil

"Do your best & forget the rest" - Tony Horton - great quote for a myriad of topics

Here is one that has been on my desk since the New Year - great one for scrapping as well as life:

"A dream is the starting point. It won't take you where you want to go. A plan of action takes you to fulfillment."

Regina Leeds, One Year to an Organized Life (a book which I started in 2009 lol and still have not finished)

I was thinking of this in terms of other areas of my life, but it is certainly also true of all the layouts that exist only in my head.
A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was,the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove, but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child....

I like that thought, Gayle - it softens the blow on the things in which I have tried to be a professional and saw that I am still very much in the amateur mode! There's always tomorrow.................

I wonder how long it would take me to read that book much less get my life organized! LOL Isn't organizing a life time chore?! :P It does work on getting LO's done, that is one area I am most organized in. Done with 2009 and all the years of my kids lives...since 1993. :D Lots of paper scrapping those first years!

Oh, the layouts in my head are many - so many ideas - but when I start to put them on paper, they get lost somewhere...............I imagine what collection I am going to use - pretty much have it all laid out in my head - then whoosh!

Hope it is okay to put one of my fav quotes here - I am thinking we are way past day 7, but Sandi, is it okay to keep this thread up and running? I have really enjoyed all the quotes here, Sandi - great thread!

My fav quote for this week is:

"Count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit you. What it really means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they, who speak badly against you are the ones who are uncomfortable."

- can't remember the author, but it is a quote I keep taped onto my fridge for a reminder!

Love that quote Sara, and I think it is very true. I agree - let's keep this thread going. I'm always on the search of a good quote. It's one of the regular features I want to use on my calendar journal so I need at least 52 - 1 for each week and then I would like even more because there are some special days I want to a quote for.

Good, Kay. I love quotes and recently when I was struggling with some teenage problems, a friend gave me a book that I have now read from cover to cover countless times and always find some new quote that seems to apply to me, so here's another favorite of mine:

1. Watch your thoughts for they become words.
2. Watch your words for they become actions.
3. Watch your actions, for they become habits.
4. Watch your habits, for they become character.
5. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

I try very hard to live by this quote - it doesn't always work but I do try.

May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
~Irish Blessing

Creativity is a soul's journey. I read this sentence last night in my DIY Creative Entrepreneur book (Lisa Sonora Beam) and it really spoke to me as we document not only our day-to-day happenings but our growth and pathway of creativity.
