Hi - I am trying to go from pse 5.0 and a PC to pse 8.0 and a MAC. How do you load brushes into 8.0 so that they stay in the brushes area so you can just scroll down through all your brushes when you click on brush? Right now I go to load brushes and am loading my brushes one-by-one, but then they disappear.
Thanks,
Laura

Laura,
The simple answer to your question is that you need to install them into your presets folder. Alas, I don't do mine that way (I have way too many brushes) so I am not sure how you do it. If you have Add-o-matic, that will install them into the preset folder for you.
This will bump up your question till someone more expert sees it! In the meantime, welcome to scrapgirls! You have found the perfect place to ask questions.
Have fun!

A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was,the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove, but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child....

Hi Marylou
I have come out of lurking, but not new to scrapping. I have newley installed PSE8 on W7. If you dont install your brushes into the presets then how do you manage them?
Sorry Laura I dont mean to take over your thread.

Welcome to both of you! So glad to have you at Scrap Girls!
Laura,
I do not use a Mac, so I do not know the exact file path to tell you, but I am certain that any SG brushes that you buy will come with directions on where to install them.

This is a link to a discussion where a Mac user needed help installing styles. You may find the answer you're looking for there. The path for brushes is similar to that of styles.
Tamara,
I don't keep all my brushes in the Preset folder, either. I have way too many and that makes is difficult to scroll through them all and find the ones I want. So I keep a folder of brushes on my desktop and load them one at a time when I need them.
That may be what Mary Lou does also.
Hope that helps.

Well, looks as if you've gotten some expert answers already so no need to add my advice - I have a Mac too and at first, it was different with the brushes - but I load mine into Photoshop as well so I have kind of double duty going on and I do get frustrated once in awhile when I realize that I didn't load the brush into the program I am working in. It took me a long time to figure all of this out and I had many questions, but this is the best place to ask and get some good answers - everyone is always so willing to help!

This is an old post but I am having this exact problem and I do not understand what I am supposed to do to install the brushes. I am using PSE 9 and I don't understand what is meant by preset folders. I open the brushes and I can get my new brushes to show up. I click save and they disappear. I figured I would just add on to this post instead of starting a new one because it is the same problem. I am having alot of trouble with PSE 9. It is really taking me alot longer than I thought it would to figure things out.
Thanks,
Patty

Patty, you will need to copy the .abr files to the presets folder. You can find the instructions here in the free ScrapSimple Handbook. See step 1 on page 4. HTH
