Welcome to Holiday Hoopla 2009! This time of year is packed with holidays and events and traditions galore! It's also time for our most challenging game of the year! This challenge promises to keep you busy all month long. We're going to celebrate the season together here on the Message Board through tasks and challenges focused on holiday and seasonal traditions and of course there will be prizes in store!

Here's the nitty gritty: Every other day (December 1st through December 29th) a Holiday Hoopla 2009 task will be posted in this thread by a member of the Welcoming Committee. Tasks will be in large purple font for easy identifying in the thread. If you complete all 15 tasks correctly you'll win a $10 gift certificate to the ScrapGirls Boutique! There will be layout creation included in the Holiday Hoopla tasks and one layout from each of the six layout tasks will be chosen as a winner, and will be awarded with a $5 gift certificate to the Scrap Girls boutique. Those who complete all 15 tasks and earn the $10 gift certificate are also eligible to win the $5 gift certificates for their layouts. You may choose to only participate in the layout creation part of Holiday Hoopla and you will be eligible to win a $5 gift certificate if one of your layouts is chosen as a task winner, but the $10 gift certificates will only be awarded to those who complete all fifteen tasks.

Read each task carefully and compile all your answers and links into one e-mail that should be sent to scrapgirlang@gmail.com at the end of the month when you've completed all the tasks. Emails need to be received by December 31st at midnight Mountain Time (Happy New Year!). Please put "Holiday Hoopla 2009- Username" in the email subject line. Feel free to keep track of your participation in a word document or other similar program throughout the month, but when it's time to send in your completed tasks with links, etc, please copy and paste the required items directly into the email message rather than attaching document files. Thanks!

Good luck!

Well let's see, last year, I was in Texas, and tried to keep up with this, but I did. Now I still have school and I'm going to Texas again, but I certainly will give it my best shot.

Well, since I have already scrapped my scrapping gifts, I guess I'm ahead of this game. Except I'll have to go back and use my most recent purchase now, since I bought some stuff in the sale. And then there's the club... I guess that technically I should use something from that. Oh, WAIT! Maybe I need to make some gift tags-perhaps I can use the club for that...or maybe I need to purchase something new right this very minute in order to do that. I think that would be the most fair, don't you? Yes, that would be best. :) I'm so exited for the Hoopla!!!!!

BTW--do we get a hoopla blinkie? I think we should have a hoopla blinkie....

For Task #1, do we use the most recent thing we purchased before December 1st or whatever we purchase in December, or do we purchase something new to complete the task?

Whatever you've most recently purchased :) In December or before December. You don't have to buy anything new to complete the task. (And if you haven't purchased anything, you can use the most recent SG freebie you've downloaded for this task.)

I have task #1 finished on the computer, and it's printed...now I have to let it dry 24 hours before assembly, then I can photograph it and get it uploaded the next morning (I think that'd make it Friday)! Ready for Task #2 tomorrow (right?) :)

Got my AWESOME blinkie too!

Michelle,

You just need links to the papers or collections right? We don't have to identify in a way such as ... 'the red paper with the stars from Holiday in Lights Collection' do we??

Thanks!
