Got mine sent to Brandie. It's two pages too. My instructions were what took up most of the space. I'm excited to get them all in a few days.

It's been crazy around here, but thanks to being snow-bound the last two days I was able to finish my card and get it off. I'm so glad; this is such a great swap! (And scrapping my recipe made me think these cookies would be a great treat for a bunch of cabin-fevered kids -- so now I'm off to do some baking :)).

I just sent mine in :) I have to say that the recipe is from my Mami. Tested and approved LOL she translated it to English, just had to make a few small changes. Isn't she awesome. I told her last month that we usually have a cookie recipe exchange and that due to my filled schedule I have not much time and she volunteered to choose a recipe for me :) I am blessed! Can't wait to get all the recipes. This has been so much fun last year!

If I get my work done tonight I might even have time tomorrow to make some cookies. I really want a picture of the cookie for the recipe card. (Secret confession: I don't drink at all and have never bought anything alcoholic. This recipe called for coffee-flavored liqueur and I hunted everywhere for this. I think there is a brand named Kahlua. I finally just bought some of those Starbucks Expresso double-shots. If anyone knows how to substitute that in for the liqueur I would be grateful.)

Sara, I'm not sure how much you need, but you could probably just mix very strong coffee (decaf or regular) with sugar to make a substitute. The Starbucks double-shots are probably plenty strong, but Kahlua (an liqueur containing alcohol) also is sweet and thicker than just liquid coffee. If the recipe calls for a small amount, the texture won't matter, but if it calls for more than a tablespoon or two, you might try simmering it down to a thicker consistency. HTH

Done and sent! I really wanted to make them and take pics but my girls were insistent that we do gingerbread houses today and cookies in the mountains next week.

Wahoo, recipe card DONE!
Sara, mine has Kahlua in it too. It is expensive! I would love to know if you find an acceptable substitute, I did find a somewhat lower priced version of Kahlua at our grocery.

LOL, well that would be great, but then I would have to buy vodka! I am more likely to use the Kahlua I think :bouncing-frog:

Sara, I had to lol when you were talking about hoping to get your recipe made up tomorrow so you could photograph it...that is TOTALLY the reason why I picked the cookie I did for mine. It's one of my favorite cookies EVER, AND I actually had a photograph from the time DS and I made them for a Christmas party 2 years ago. :) I remembered what year the party was, so it was easy to find the photograph too. I'm all about ease here, hehehe.

Ooooh thanks, Debbie! Now I can make cookies my DH will eat. The alcohol goes in the filling and isn't cooked. I can make Kaluha without the Vodka, LOL. My DH won't touch alcohol.

This is the reason to photograph our food. LOL. I'm starting a folder for food photos. Yesterday at lunch, my coworker commented on how pretty my plate was arranged (small salad, 2 chicken finger and 2 pickle spears on a plastic plate). I had to laugh...if only she new how scrapping and photography have changed my life.

Really looking forward to all the great cookie recipes. This will make a great scrapbook, one I can pass on down to my granddaughters when they are old enough to bake.

Just a reminder, Cookie Exchangers: Lots of printing places are having sales on 4x6 photos right now. Don't forget to get a great deal getting them all printed out. I can't wait to have a great (and gorgeous) Cookie Book!
