There are indeed hundreds of them in the shop. Why? Is each color specific and you can't change it? So I need to find the right color I want? and how do you use a style? Does it have to be installed before I load the brush? OR does it become part of the color pallette? I just want some snow like white sparkles to my snowflake brushes. and glitter on the snow edges. But I can't find white.

totally beginning here....
and appreciate your help!

Changing colors is hard to do... to get it right. I try to go with a style that has the right color.

Each style is different, in that there are different types of glitter, and even sizes of the "specks" Just go visit a craft store to see!! That variety is also represented in the store.

for some fun ones with white in them.. here are a couple i have used and liked:
ScrapSimple Tools - Styles: Urban Living glitter 5501
ScrapSimple Tools - Styles: Micro glitter 6401 Super Biggie (as the name says micro, it means small... great for small elements)
ScrapSimple Tools - Styles: glittered Gelly 6401 Super Biggie (this one you might like, its a little gelly)
ScrapSimple Tools - Styles: Star Bright 5001 (gold, silver, white.... perfect staple!)

there are much more when you get playing with them!

I use them along with the brushes all the time and end up with wonderful effects!!

have fun.

Oh and when you download them, there is a file that has all the instructions you need for your program to install the styles. Its very easy to follow along!

Here are my favorite snow and ice styles to use on my brushes.

ScrapSimple Tools - Styles: Snow and Ice 6101 Biggie
ScrapSimple Tools - Styles: Icicle 6401
ScrapSimple Tools - Styles: Holiday In Lights

Each one has a slightly different look. Plus, when you purchase them they come with instructions for installing them. They aren't too hard to install and if you have any specific questions you can always come here and ask.

Styles are sooooo cool. Once you start using them, you'll wonder how you ever managed without them. You can apply them to brushes, embellishment templates, frames, brads, buttons, text (you need to simplify/rasterize it first), pretty much anything. Styles are a lot of fun. They are versatile, and can help you get more out of your other products (applying a different style to a brush or frame can completely transform it). Have fun and don't hesitate to post questions.

Oh - I forgot to say what I originally started posting to say! I got a little excited talking about styles, lol. After you install a style, it will show up over in the list with the drop shadows and bevels, etc. (technically, those are styles, they just come pre-installed in PSE and PS). Make sure you purchase the right style for your program - some are PSE specific, some are PS specific. A few work with both programs, but be sure to check before you purchase. It's written in red on the boutique pages. (and, if you happen to purchase the wrong one, don't worry - you can get that taken care of as well. we've all done it. :D)

Glad to hear you had the same dilemma. The brush had the shape (squares) using the Foreground Color. So I added a Glitter Style and it looked great. I just didn't understand that this is what you were SUPPOSED to do. But it worked and I'm happy.
