JenniferZ
Does anyone have Windows 7? I am thinking about cutting my losses with my current laptop and buying a new one for Christmas. All of the laptops I've been interested in thus far are loaded with Windows 7 (64-bit). Does anyone know if I will have problems with Adobe's Creative Suite (CS with CS3 upgrade)? I looked on Adobe's website and didn't find any conclusive answers for my versions. All of my programs work fine in 32-bit Vista Ultimate (well, they work when my computer isn't on the fritz!). Just curious if this might be a problem for me. TIA for advice!
Vaughnde
A few of our members here have Win 7 but I'm not sure how many. I use XP on my Desktop so I'm no help. But I'll bump this up
CanJan
I have windows 7 Pro on my new desktop - I'm getting used to it as an O.S. weras I spent a year trying to get used to Vista on my laptop and finally gave up and reverted to XP. Problem is my PSE 5 is not working 100% little bits seem to be missing sometimes, of couse no support from Adobe except to buy newer version of PSE - just cannot afford that right now. Thinking of trying a re-install as an XP compatible program, but have been told that that feature has some bugs also. Anyone have some definitive information I can hang my hat on??? JenniferZ
Update: I got Win 7 Ultimate (32-bit) installed on my laptop (did not upgrade). Everything is working fine for me: Family Tree Maker, PSE7, CS and the CS3 upgrade, Office, etc. CJ, I think you can just download the XP mode from Microsoft without re-doing the whole thing. However, I had a tech install my version, plus most of my programs, so I'm not an authority! I hope you can figure something out -- replacing software is EXPENSIVE! Good luck! CanJan
Yes Jennifer - I did a reinstall, in compatible mode (XP SP2) Then today I found the right path to the db3 files that were preventing my styles from loading - renamed them .old and rebooted and voila - Styles!! The only thing I notice still missing is that there are fewer tools available in RAW; cannot figure out why?
