Well we are scheduled for a csection on January 4th and still haven't decided on a name for our new baby boy. There just hasn't been any names that are saying "that's it!" and its driving me crazy. We've gone through a wide variety of names...Ethan, Cole, Sawyer, Emerson, Carson, Isaac, Brennan, Jaxon, Carter, Matthew.......and the list goes on. I would say Caleb Matthew is at the top of our list right now. But of course, there are those in the family that don't like it...I know I can't please everyone though. I was wanting to surprise my parents by including Wilson ( my maiden name) as a second middle name..like for example..Brennan Wade Wilson. But I can't come up with many names that it will flow well with.

Sooo...all of you great baby namers stand up and give me a hand. The floor is wide open :)

This is your chance to name your baby. Pick the name you like and don't try to please everyone, but you and your spouse. My mom didn't care for my boys names. She tends to be a traditionalist when it comes to names. I named them what I wanted. My boys are Colin, Reagan and Asher. I wanted to name a boy Patrick or Logan, but DH said no to those two. He was the only person that got veto power.

Yep, the naming is for you and DH. I like the names you've chosen. And if you choose to add Wilson, I think it goes will with Caleb Matthew. We were very stingy with naming. No one....I mean NO ONE...other than DH and me knew the names we had picked out. They already knew we were having twins and that they were girls. The only surprises we had left were the actually day they'd show up (7 weeks early :o) and their names.

I'll let you have the one boy name we had if you'd like...Elijah Quest (Quest is a family name...and pretty cool if you ask me). Don't know if it works with Wilson -- lol.

All that said, I hope you come up with a name that satisfies you and DH, that you can say 150 times a day and not tire of, and that you can scream at the top of your lungs across the house and still like! :D

I haven't read the other responses, but I will tell you that my son's birthday is on January 4th and his name is Isaiah. :D Truth be told, we had a huge list of names and Isaiah wasn't on it. When we met him, I knew it was his name. I always thought I'd have an Ian Michael. :) I'm betting everyone will come around eventually with whatever you pick out.

Be sure to let us know what you ended up with! Congratulations!

my dd and sil knew they were having a boy but they never shared the names or even the ones they were considering..they just told us that it wouldnt be anything "crazy" that we had never heard of.... i felt better not knowing.... i was able to just see him, hear his name ( nathan, and called nathan and nate) and know it was his name.... so maybe just figure out what you like and keep it to yourself...then you can also change it when you see him! which i have heard that happens many times....

First of all, congratulations on having your new baby boy. I love the name Wilson - it just works in so many ways - and obviously is a name dear to your heart. And, it's very traditional to give the mother's maiden name to a boy.

Please be sure to let us know.

Just want to say Congratulations! And to echo everyone else, the only ones who need to like the name are you and your husband! Caleb Matthew is a lovely name!
A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was,the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove, but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child....

Another vote here for NO ONE gets a vote except you and DH! Have you looked at www.nymbler.com? That was my fave website when picking names for my kids. You can select names you like and it will give you more names like it.

I read a great baby name book called "beyond Jennifer, Jason, Madison and Montana". It isn't your typical baby name book and that's how we chose our DD's name because we liked a certain "type" of name. I'd recommend it.

And everyone is right... it's really between you and your hubby. I had some names that are on my "will never name a child" name list and so does DH (I was a school teacher, so there are some bad associations with a few names).

Good luck!

How exciting! I agree with what many others have said, it is your chance to name the baby, just the two of you (and your other children if you wish) to name him! I really like the names you've mentioned so far! I also like the idea of putting Wilson in your baby's name too. Congrats and Best wishes!!

You truly are the people that count when it comes to naming the baby. Wilson is a great name and I hope you can figure out a way to make it work for you. Best wishes with upcoming birth and please share the name and the story as soon as you can.

Thanks for the support everyone. Maybe we should keep the name to ourselves. It will help rid some pressure from the other 5 siblings and others. Thanks for the site suggestion...it's alot of fun to play with and a way to get some great ideas.

You needn't please anyone but yourselves. If you love it, go with it!

If DD1 had been a boy, she'd have been Matthew Peter. If DD2 had been a boy, she'd have been Mark Everett. I think if we ever have a #3, Mark Everett is still going to be our boy name.
