I am working on a 9X9 scrapbook about my trip to the Yucatan. It is PSE4 on a mac and I am printing for me (and ephemera to some of the print pages) but I also want to share online for two reason. One- I believe this is another digital story telling medium that will work in k12 schools both for stories and for seeing about places others have been and learn about other cultures., and two- I think it would be fun to share scrapbooks this way.
I have used many papers and embellishments purchased from several sites. Certainly much is covered, in some the colors are changed etc. There are no sales involved and no one can take the individual elements cause they are all in jpg format.

Do I put a page or a note that acknowledges where purchased? each and every designer? that these are copyrighted materials and not to used by others? How can I do this and be legal. I have passworded the site for now but if anyone needs to see it in order to give an opinion, please send me a message and I will send you the password.

Appreciate your advice,

Marianne

Hi Marianne,
If I am understanding you correctly, you are creating the pages of the album about your trip to the Yucatan and you simply want to share what you make with others? If this is correct, then there is no problem at all...it sounds to me like you are doing nothing more than what we all do here by sharing in our online gallery. As for giving credit, yes, it is best to share where you bought everything and the names of the designers, but most designers/sites don't require you to do so (you would have to read each designers individual terms to know for sure). Here at Scrap Girls, you don't *have* to list us when sharing with family and friends, but we would love it if you did! :)

As for the copyright notice here at Scrap Girls, what someone can't do is sell, share, loan, post, etc...the *individual files* that you have downloaded here at SG. This is also usually the case with other sites/designers. Files are only for personal, non-commercial use -- but yes, you can share your creations with those products with anyone.
