I'm about 4 weeks behind. Another one of those things I hope I can get to on Christmas while the roast is cooking. ;)

I failed miserably at this challenge last year....just too much life going on around me. But I'm looking forward to doing better next year, so I'm really eager to see the new "guide lines."

I'm like Ann--too much life, not enough scrapping! I did one layout but that's it. I may do a year in review layout. I look forward to seeing how SG 52 will change.

I'm so glad I'm not the only failure! I thought everyone else was just trucking along and I couldn't keep up. Maybe next year there will be a slacker division...and I may be right on top of that!

Ann, you're not a failure....you just got sidetracked, but can get back on the mainline easily now. I think I did weekly LOs through the first 6 weeks or so when my life got crazy. I surely don't know what will happen in 2010, but the plans are for a little more laid-back work schedule and some travel and that makes me hopeful. Also, I think I was overly ambitious with how I wanted to start last year, so I'm listening to April and planning simple. The approach this year will be to just get it done and not worry about making each one a masterpiece. We can do it Ann....see you at the chat...and that will be when Angela?

For all of you who did not complete SG 52 in 2009....you did not fail!!!! You were just doing some warm up work for 2010.

One thing I've done to prepare for 2010 is make up a folder for my 2010 album and I have 2 page spreads already labeled and in the folder. One 2 pager for each month. I've got backgrounds on a few of them and the month labeled with the same font for the whole year. Maybe it will be easier to finish this way. I do want to try to complete a photo a day for this coming year though. I've seen some photo challenges to do a self-portrait everyday. I'm thinking about this. Just thinking, haven't decided yet.

Sandi, you've really got a great start! Maybe I'll get time over the next week to try to get set up like your are!

I'd have to say that the idea of a self-portrait every day really sounds ambitious and I think I can honestly say that'll never happen for me! Posted Image

Looking forward to what you plan Angela, Becca and ME! I will be there to finish my 2009 book and have already like Sandi got plans for 2010. This year is gonna be even more simple...one font throughout, double pages each week and a color scheme for each month. For 2010 I'll be using the club each month for the month i.e. January club for the month of January, Feb club for February, etc.

There is no failure.

ANY layout you did during 2009 is a layout for the year! I think if you look in your layouts you will find that you actually covered alot of things!!!

the great thing about this whole thing is that there is no right or wrong way!!!

I have the first 2/3 of the year done but got sidetracked during the fall. The photos are there so I just need to put them on pages. Maybe over Christmas break (my gift to me: time to scrap). Can't wait to see what else is in store!

Sandi, that's awesome that you are already off to a great start for your 2010 pages, that a great idea. And V, I like your idea of using the monthly club to complete that months page. All awesome ideas.

My family is napping, so I am working on my August page and like Kim have giving myself the gift of scrapping time for Christmas.

I did three LOs and got sidetracked. I've enjoyed the SG 52 LOs in the gallery though and really wished I had kept up. So I'm glad there will be a second chance in 2010 -- looking forward to hearing what you have in store!

I went to a chat earlier this year and they suggested just counting each layout I've done this year and seeing how many I had. This was really good for me as I realized I had no layouts at all for some events (my son's high school graduation, for example, lol). So I am actually going to end up with an album of photos and layouts done in 2009 (and 2010 too - I will not get done before January)! That is a first for me!

I look forward to seeing what you all have up your sleeves for next year! I have been following a few of the 52 albums and they are wonderful!
A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was,the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove, but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child....

I am definitely going to participate in 2010!!! I always looked longingly at the layouts! Yes, it requires consistency, but the end result is a story. I love that!

Thanks Angela, can't wait to get started with you guys :D

I used some down time this week to catch up. I'm only 2 weeks behind, but that's by design so that the two weeks match (if that makes sense). I'm thinking about making a few changes for next year so it's easier for me, but still looks just as good. But I'll see what surprises you all have in store and see where to go from here. I'm so proud of myself and everyone else who has stuck with it. There have been weeks where I don't have a photo a day, but I've stuck with it. I can't wait to see it in print!!!

I hope I can make the chat!

I can't wait to see the changes. I thought it was a great idea at the beginning of 2009 but I never was able to take a photo a day (too much life and too many changes) and therefore I don't think I completed a single layout (only managed to take photos for the first week too).

This was truly an awful year for me and photos. I've actually gone back and tried recreating a few (like my DD's 8th grade graduation when I never even thought to take a FAMILY photo before the ceremony! ... or my other DDs very first straight A report card where the pictures were unfocused!).

For the graduation, I was able to get my girlfriend over in November after all the leaves had fallen. She took some pictures of us outdoors and I took some older ones outdoors and photoshopped the background. Still have to dig out that report card and get my youngest to pose with it again.

I just did not seem to pick up my camera as much as usual this year and I'm not happy about that ... means there really isn't a 2009 scrapbook album to make cause I couldn't fill it so it will be a 2009/2010 album.

Here's to a better 2010!

Denise, I think combining the two years is a great idea. 2009 has been a trying year for a lot of us and I'm only hoping 2010 will be better (I'm doing some things to make it better, but life happens). I'm going to try to go back and find some of the 2009 things to do a scrapbook of just the highlights. If I stick with monthly LOs, I should be able to do it. Its my New Year Eve project. LOL. Lets see if I can get it done.

sandi like the idea of different photo challenges for the different months...probably realistic goals are by the week or perhaps month...like a self portrait a day for the week ( or month) i did that one month...and did a page with all my self portraits...it was kind of fun...maybe we can challenge ourselves ( which will be helpfulphotography goals as well as scrapping goals).... like natural light photos for a week/month....flash.... portraits.... different type of portraits.... nature... etc...and hope to hear some good ideas if you want
