We are limited to stores in my area, only Best Buy actually. I just bought a priner scanner yesterday and it is sitting on my dinning room table unopened becaused I`m just not sure if I am going to be satisfied. The price was ok $159.00 on sale but the ink was almost $100.00, that seemed a little high to me but I don`t have any experience with a printer for printing pictures and LOs. I really didn`t want a scanner/printer combined but it seem like the best deal at the time, now I`m not so sure. Please advise.

I have the Canon Pixma 4000R (printer only) and have been very happy with it.

Sure sounds like a good price you got! What are you not so sure about?

I've got the Canon Pixma Ip8500 and it prints out great!

I also last Saturday got another Multi Funtion printer/scanner/copier. The Canon MP150 - and both are great!

I know inks are expensive, but $100 for one, or do you mean $100 for 2? I'm a bit confused.

I just got the Canon PIXMA MP500 too. I read on some reviews that this Canon is actually very good at conserving ink unlike some other brands that go through ink quickly. I'm hoping this is true. I did hear the ink is expensive, but you can replace each cartridge as needed since there are 4 & a pigment. Didn't your canon printer come with the ink?? mine did.

I did read through the advice on this message board too regarding printers... Thanks all! I decided not to go the 12 x 12 route due to cost of printer and paper too (had not thought of that being expensive). I have also heard some say it is hard to display 12 x 12 books on a bookshelf... What do any of you think??

Good luck with your projects & prints!
Nicole

I actually did keep the printer and I am very pleased with it. It did come with ink but the ones mine came with are only samples to help you get started. Since posting this topic I have found that what I paid for ink is really not that bad and yes you can buy it separately.
