After the holiday business, this Scrap Girl's thoughts are turning to the business of submitting. I've let some calls slip away, but there are some that have dates that are workable.

One that is coming up quickly is the digital publication Ready, Set Create! Their deadline is the Jan 10 (this Sunday!). I would suggest that you send in something that you already have complete. Did you enter last February's monthly contest? Then you probably have something that's perfect for the Valentine Call. Send it in!

RSC's Feb/March Call

Scrapbook Trends is looking for digital in their July Call: July 2010 Call The deadline is Feb 5

Scrap N Art is another digital publication that has a current call: Current SNA Page Calls Deadline is Feb 1

I've never submitted anything, but I think I need to. I just signed up for RSC and now I guess I need to submit. Why is this so intimidating, the worst they can say is your LO stinks, go away, don't call us, we'll call you. and then everyone will laugh at me. LOL. Ok, no problem, submitting away.

Sandi, I think it's more likely to say "Thank you for your interest in ____. Unfortunately, your submission does not meet our needs at this time. We hope you will submit again."

I have a question. The majority of calls will say that you are not allowed to have your work in an online gallery, etc. until a certain amount of time has passed after the issue in which your layout is included.

Could you delete a layout from your SG gallery so that you can submit it and repost it at a later time when it's ok, or can it NEVER have been posted at all?

Hey Crystal, it's usually for about a month that you need to take your layout out of the gallery, after that you can put it back up again... It's nice to have a layout made that says removed for publication in your layout arsenal for when they do ACCEPT your layouts for publication! LOL

BTW I submitted one this morning before I had to leave, now I'm going to see what else I have to submit .....

I have another question about submitting that may seem a little silly. I have a few cards that I would like to submit. Do I submit the files the way they are or do I need to print the cards out and take a picture?

Oh, sorry Crystal......... I think you can just send the cards......... if they want a photo of them they'll let you know........but each magazine may be different so look at their susbmission page and see if it mentions anything to you... just make sure what ever you send do it one item to an email... they don't usually take them if you've attached more than one to an email.

Come on girls, go submit. I did on Friday and already got an answer. It might be out of your comfort zone, but it feels amazing when you get that email. And, what's the worse that can happen? You don't get an email. No biggie, cause we still all get to enjoy your LO's.

Congrats on submitting. Trust me, it really isn't bad if you get rejected. I look at is as an incentive to try to be more creative.
