DH and I finally went shopping for my Christmas gift. We debated monitors vs cameras, but settled on a 10mp canon rebel with 2 lens and carry case. Not the biggest mp, but adequate for what I need.

I am looking for the book Sandi recommended recently... Look out! Grama Razzi is on the loose!

Barb, you are going to love that one. Which Rebel? XSi or T1i?

Very nice, Is that the equivalent of the 1000D? If so I have a book I can send you, got it by mistake for my XSi/450D. its David Busch's Canon EOS Rebel XS/1000D guide to Digital Photography. Great book, Have the XSi version and have preordered the 7D version which is coming out soon. Let me know and I'll send it to you.

Ooh - that's what I have, Barb and I love it - I only have the one lens and am saving for another one that I desperately need - just can't do what I want to do with the lens that came with it! Have fun with yours - I sure have!

YES, Sandi, the manual calls it the EOS Rebel XS 1000D!

I would appreciate the book, but would LOVE to have it hand delivered (and you KNOW you want to visit the NW and NOT have so much snow to deal with, LOL)

Or, you could mail it! Do you need my address?

Ok, Barb, I'll go check airfares and see what I can do...if I can get a cheap flight I'll come on out there, been missing all of you and my best girl Angie a lot. If not, I'll need your address, have your phone #s but not your address. I have gifts for Sami and Trey and those could be delivered too. This is as good a reason as any to make a trip. I couldn't come until the end of next week though.

Barb - congratulations on your new Rebel! I recently got mine and LOVE it - so much to learn!

And maybe you will get a visit from Sandi and have a chance for a great photo shoot! YEAH!

ENJOY! (PS - the Digital Field Guide is a great learning tool!)

So... I studied several hours yesterday with the video that came with the camera. It's SO informative, simplified and easy!

I still have not taken any special pics, and can't wait to get out today on our day off and find something lovely to capture! FUN.
Maybe I can get in the photography chat later today!
