hi. i'm trying to print some journaling onto a legal size sheet of paper to fit in my 12 inch sized scrapbooks. i'll attach the jpeg file below if it will help. i'm telling adobe to print actual size and i've made the text fit just short of 12 inches even though the paper is legal size. but it keeps printing leaving off about an inch of text on the end. adobe gives me a message that it's printing to a non post script printer. is that why? what can i do to fix my problem? i'm using an epson artisan 800 printer. thanks for any help.

What program are you using to print? What size is your document? Is it legal size or something different? I have an Artisan 700 and have not had any trouble. Make sure you document is set to legal size to be able to print in actual size.

I have a different Epson printer, so I can't really address your problem, but my techie dh's advice to me when I'm fighting with the printer is first, to restart the machine. If that doesn't work, reinstall your printer drivers. Those two things usually do the trick.

What Adobe thing? Are you using PSE? Which version?

i'm using photoshop elements 6. the adobe print wizard comes up when i want to print my 8.5 x 14 picture (and i make sure it says 8.5 x 14 paper and it is actual size listed. but the text stops short of 12 inches. can it sense that it isn't really an 8.5 x 14 page. and really an 8.5 x 12 inch page, maybe? even in the print preview it looks perfect.

OK - when you set up your document in PSE6 is the document size itself 8.5 x 14"? Then you add the text making sure it isn't longer than 12" (if you want to use on a 12 x 12 layout) Then go to printer preferences and set your paper to 8.5 x 14. Print.

Suggestion, since you want to use this on a 12 x 12 why don't you set up a regular size document 8.5 x 11 and use Word rather than PSE6 to print the journaling or is there a reason you need to use PSE6?

actually, i've tried word and photoshop thinking it might make a difference. same thing. it only prints to the 11 inch mark just short of 12". i've gotten rid of margins even. and it looks just like i want in the print preview. i don't get it since it can print up to 14 inches on a 8.5 x 14 inch page. ugh! oh well. i'll keep fiddling with it. thank you all for the help!
