we had a rather rainy day today as well!! but after dinner we were able to get out and go for a walk! andy walked with micah and so i was able to just go ahead at a faster pace, pushing noah in the stroller...so even though we didn't go far, i atleast had a good brisk walk for maybe 20-25 minutes! better than the slower pace when i am pushing 2 of them or have micah walking with me!

Good for you nelly!
I have been feeling really good about waliong to the bus every day. And when I bring both dogs (a mutt and a black lab maniac) my arms get a good work out too. And now that I am not always dragging my two kids on errands (fun fun fun!) I am parking farther away to get more steps in.

now if I could only get the incentive to do those crunches!

Anyonw want to set up a crunch challenge with me?

I'm up for a crunch challenge. I got off track a bit and am needing the extra incentive. I plan to do the following at least 3 times a week:

50 cross overs with knee touches (bicycle crunches),
25 crunches with 10 lbs of weight on my chest or on a machine
20 hip lifts with an 8 lb medicine ball
12 side plank dips on each side with my elbow touching the ground after each dip

Those are the exercises my trainer was doing with me, so since I've gotten off track I'll have to work up to it again on a few of them. I know I can still do the crunches and hip lifts, it's the side plank dips that are really tough. Let me know what you'd like to do.

I actually haven't done any official exercising this week. I've been cramping and such and didn't want to over do. I have done some walking and consider cleaning and doing laundry mild exercise.

Today I had a D&C and will take the rest of the week slowly. I'm feeling pretty well, just tired with a bit of a headache, and some mild cramping. My two younger sisters are bringing us dinner tonight, and my hubby has been taking care of me all day. I did have him get me an almond fudge shake, but it was a small size and not something I do every day. Chocolate is my Rx of choice (just kidding). Hopefully Monday I'll be up for more regular exercise, and can get back on track.

I hope all of you are exercising and feeling well. ttfn

Hooo! That is a challenge. And I was just going to recommend some sit ups! LOL!! I'm game though, although I don't have all the equipment...

I'm doing pretty well. I've been a bit teary all day, but I'm glad I don't have to wait anymore. The constant spotting was hard with no closure. I'm feeling pretty well after the procedure today and just hope I can sleep well after taking such a long nap this afternoon. I may take a unisom to help tonight.

The cramping is really pretty mild right now. I might work on some pages for awhile to take my mind off it all. Then later when the kids are in bed my hubby and I are going to watch a show. Tomorrow we'll be heading out of town for the weekend so that will be a nice break from things. I'm excited to take some pictures of the fall colors on the way to the cabin tomorrow.

Thanks for listening Theresa (and everyone).

I upped my level on the treadmill this morning and I'm hurtin'! But it feels great! Out of breath, sweatin'...think I'll go have a cookie! LOL!

I haven't been able to try Wendee's challenge yet. I've just been doing my own modified sit-ups. I'm up to 80 of them. I have also added free weights. I'm doing 40 bicep curls, 20 chest presses, and 20 over the head lifts using 5 lb weights. Yesterday I actually noticed definition in my arms and chest! WOW! I'm loving this!

How are you all? Wendee, how are you feeling? Girls? Are you still with me? I need to keep up better on this post.

I'm going to do a lap around our loop today, it is a mile with some nasty hills. I have been doing it in 25 min and want to get it down below 20 before I have to go back to the treadmill because of the weather. I have been stacking wood as well and that is quite a workout.

I really need to do my pilates but just haven't found the time yet.

Heya Wendee, sending hugs.

That is one killer ab workout. I still want to do that challenge, but I was thinking more along the lines of 50 sit ups 3 times a week!

Awesome on the treadmill, Theresa.

I am still walking everyday to and fromt he bus stop. Trying to get outdoors as much as possible before it gets cold- doing yard work mostly. The acorns are horrendous this year. So basically just trying to squeeze in as much activity as I can.

:)

Well, I've finally gotten myself going in the right direction again. I started journaling what I'm eating again and did well yesterday and so far today on making good food choices. Yesterday I also went to the gym and exercised. I did 10 mins on the eliptical and then did 50 cross overs, 15 hamstring pull-ups, 12 side plank dips on each side. Then I did 12 mins on the eliptical and then did 3 different sets of 15 arm lifts with 3 lb weights, 50 more crossovers, 25 crunches with a 10 lb weight and 15 crossovers. Then I did about 5 more mins on the eliptical and stretched. I'm a bit achey today but I'm sure after a few days I'll be used to it all again.

Ok, I want to join in.... I have 20 pounds to drop not mention getting my body back into shape after the baby. I couldn't do much of anything in the last few months of pg, so it has been slow getting back into the hang of it. I went walking 3 days straight last week, but haven't done anything in 2 days... So tomorrow it is back on the wagon...

We've all been kindof hit and miss in here lately, but I'm trying to be better about exercising regularly and posting it. Way to go on your walking darklighter! Congratz on your new baby!

Today I did 25 mins on the eliptical, 50 cross overs, 12 side plank dips on each side, and 35 crunches. Then I went on a 30 min walk with my dd.

FaeryWings - I was just reading back a bit and noticed I hadn't replied to your post. I think 50 sit ups 3 times a week is great! How are you doing on it? So far I've done some ab work two times this week.

Theresa and Dee you're both doing awesome too! How has this week gone for you?

Hey ladies! I'm glad you keep regenerating this post. I'm still on the treadmill everday. I'm doing 80 situps/modified crunches and 40 bicep curls with 5 lbs. Also, some chest presses and over the head lifts with the same weights. I had to decrease my speed on the treadmill as my heart flutter has returned, and I can't tell if it is from working out or from my own stinkin' hormones. But I'm still sweating and at this point, I think I just want to maintain rather than lose any more weight.

The best thing about this whole venture for me has been my husband. Since he comes on right before me, he encourages me to get on and go. He hasn't lost a stitch of weight though, and I have to laugh at that. Just what is he eating throughout the day, I wonder? LOL! At least his heart will be healthy though.

Welcom Susan! Great to have you with us! CC, have you jumped on the wagon with us?? How is it going for you, Dee? And wings...get off that duff! LOL!!! When you are ready of course. Wendee, glad you are still here posting with us. It is motivation time. When the holidays get close, this gets harder and harder, so let's keep posting!!

Well, since I've been on the road so much, I've not been on my bicycle at all - but am still maintaining at 180. sigh.

This morning I felt good though, so I went for a little jog from the hotel down to the Washington Monument, by the White House, and back. That made me feel even better.

If I always had that kind of scenery, I might go run more often!

I kinda over did it on Monday and have been paying the price! I have managed about a mile each day but since my legs have been shaky and I am being pulled about by the dog I have been trying to take it a bit slower.

I need to get back into my pilate routine. This thread will help keep me going I hope!

Well, I got out and did the walking the last 3 days. Only a little bit yesterday, but at least it was something. Then I did laps around my kitchen for like 15 minutes trying to get the baby to sleep and to stay there today :) I guess it counts....

Hey can I join in?
I need more motivation with the exercise bit.... tho I am currently sitting with heat pad on my back from where I overdid it at the gym last Thursday.... Owwwwwwww....

Current commitments I keep... (as opposed to those I keep intending to do) are -
Monday - Aquarobics, Tues & Thursday I do a circuit weights programme, where we spend time on 15 different Nautilus machines..
Thru winter I often swam after weights..
With summer coming I will spend more time in the ocean... we have a sheltered bay close by...

Walking is a problem with arthritis.... ( hey I'm old)...

I Know I need to commit myself to something more in the other days... but .... motivation is sorely lacking... despite the fact I want to lose weight and be the best I can as "Mother of the Bride" next March...

All suggestions and encouragement appreciated...

Pam...the hardest thing is getting started. Once you do, it will be easier, so start slow. You have a great schedule. Stick to it for two weeks and then tell us how you feel.

I'm really slowing down now because I'm still having those heart tremors. I'm going to the doctor Thursday to find out if it really is hormones as I suspect. It could be caffeine too. I've been drinking too much coffee lately. I think when I come off the caffeine high, then I get them. So I'll just have a cup a day for now on and then just try some decaf tea.

Needless to say, I'm still doing the treadmill, but I lowered my speed to 3.3 mph rather than 3.6. It takes me longer to go the three miles, so I think I'll knock it down to 50 minutes.

In the meantime, despite the heart tremors, I feel great. I think I've shed the extra pounds I put on this summer. I'll know Thursday when I get on a scale that works!

It is a new week, ladies! Time to regroup. How are we all doing?

Dh gave me the scale last night and I was very surprised to see what it said. I had to take off the brace to get an accurate weight, but I was surprised to see I've lost 7 pounds. :) Someone hurry jump up and down for me, lol. My scale got taken away again after that but it's okay, I can live with that. Much better to span out stepping on the scale ;).

Theresa, hope all goes well at the doctors.

Pam, definately start out slow and work your way up. You have to always remember that it's better to start slow and to not over do it. Once you get into a regular routine it can be smooth sailing from there.

I've not exercised in a couple of weeks now, and while I feel guilty I know it's better that I listen to the doctors for a while anyhow. 5 more weeks of this and I think I may go bonkers, ;).

I've totally spaced posting. Sorry! I've not been too good with my exercise either. This week I went to the chiropracter a couple times and my neck, back and shoulder are feeling much better. I'm trying not to sleep on my right side as it keeps popping a few of my ribs out. Who knows why, but at least he can fix me up again.

Today I've been cleaning lots and took a break because I was getting a bit tired. I cleaned my bathroom and the main bathroom, I wiped down the stove, part of the counter in the kitchen, and the table, washed the dishes and have been helping the kids with their chores. We've cleaned the fish bowl out, done laundry, folded laundry and put it away and I've got to get my daughter to vacuum and clean her room, and get the younger kids to help me clean their room. Then my dh and I plan to finish painting my son's room.

When the kids are done with their jobs we're going to pick pumpkins and will probably decorate them tonight.

I've got to do some weight lifting exercises with my new weights (3 lb so they're not very big) to help strengthen my shoulder and back so my ribs will stay in and I hope to walk a couple miles with my family.

Keep up the great work! I'll try to post more regularly. ttfn

What did the doctor say? How are you doing? My Dad had something similar and thought he was having a heart attack. He stopped the caffine and the palpatations went away. I hope your symptoms are as easily cured. Keep us posted.

Thank heaven Halloween is over! Now I just have to get rid of all of the candy and goodies (without eating them). I don't want to have the kids eat them all at once either. It's hard to ration them for the kids and not eat one each time too. Yesterday I didn't even try to avoid them. I ate way too many treats and I feel lethargic today. I feel like I need to do penance or something.

I really just need to take a walk and start over. I hope ya'll were more successful at avoiding all the goodies than I was.
