I have been feeling really good about waliong to the bus every day. And when I bring both dogs (a mutt and a black lab maniac) my arms get a good work out too. And now that I am not always dragging my two kids on errands (fun fun fun!) I am parking farther away to get more steps in.
now if I could only get the incentive to do those crunches!
Anyonw want to set up a crunch challenge with me?

50 cross overs with knee touches (bicycle crunches),
25 crunches with 10 lbs of weight on my chest or on a machine
20 hip lifts with an 8 lb medicine ball
12 side plank dips on each side with my elbow touching the ground after each dip
Those are the exercises my trainer was doing with me, so since I've gotten off track I'll have to work up to it again on a few of them. I know I can still do the crunches and hip lifts, it's the side plank dips that are really tough. Let me know what you'd like to do.

Today I had a D&C and will take the rest of the week slowly. I'm feeling pretty well, just tired with a bit of a headache, and some mild cramping. My two younger sisters are bringing us dinner tonight, and my hubby has been taking care of me all day. I did have him get me an almond fudge shake, but it was a small size and not something I do every day. Chocolate is my Rx of choice (just kidding). Hopefully Monday I'll be up for more regular exercise, and can get back on track.
I hope all of you are exercising and feeling well. ttfn

Hooo! That is a challenge. And I was just going to recommend some sit ups! LOL!! I'm game though, although I don't have all the equipment...

The cramping is really pretty mild right now. I might work on some pages for awhile to take my mind off it all. Then later when the kids are in bed my hubby and I are going to watch a show. Tomorrow we'll be heading out of town for the weekend so that will be a nice break from things. I'm excited to take some pictures of the fall colors on the way to the cabin tomorrow.
Thanks for listening Theresa (and everyone).

I haven't been able to try Wendee's challenge yet. I've just been doing my own modified sit-ups. I'm up to 80 of them. I have also added free weights. I'm doing 40 bicep curls, 20 chest presses, and 20 over the head lifts using 5 lb weights. Yesterday I actually noticed definition in my arms and chest! WOW! I'm loving this!
How are you all? Wendee, how are you feeling? Girls? Are you still with me? I need to keep up better on this post.

That is one killer ab workout. I still want to do that challenge, but I was thinking more along the lines of 50 sit ups 3 times a week!
Awesome on the treadmill, Theresa.
I am still walking everyday to and fromt he bus stop. Trying to get outdoors as much as possible before it gets cold- doing yard work mostly. The acorns are horrendous this year. So basically just trying to squeeze in as much activity as I can.

Today I did 25 mins on the eliptical, 50 cross overs, 12 side plank dips on each side, and 35 crunches. Then I went on a 30 min walk with my dd.

The best thing about this whole venture for me has been my husband. Since he comes on right before me, he encourages me to get on and go. He hasn't lost a stitch of weight though, and I have to laugh at that. Just what is he eating throughout the day, I wonder? LOL! At least his heart will be healthy though.
Welcom Susan! Great to have you with us! CC, have you jumped on the wagon with us?? How is it going for you, Dee? And wings...get off that duff! LOL!!! When you are ready of course. Wendee, glad you are still here posting with us. It is motivation time. When the holidays get close, this gets harder and harder, so let's keep posting!!

This morning I felt good though, so I went for a little jog from the hotel down to the Washington Monument, by the White House, and back. That made me feel even better.
If I always had that kind of scenery, I might go run more often!

I need more motivation with the exercise bit.... tho I am currently sitting with heat pad on my back from where I overdid it at the gym last Thursday.... Owwwwwwww....
Current commitments I keep... (as opposed to those I keep intending to do) are -
Monday - Aquarobics, Tues & Thursday I do a circuit weights programme, where we spend time on 15 different Nautilus machines..
Thru winter I often swam after weights..
With summer coming I will spend more time in the ocean... we have a sheltered bay close by...
Walking is a problem with arthritis.... ( hey I'm old)...
I Know I need to commit myself to something more in the other days... but .... motivation is sorely lacking... despite the fact I want to lose weight and be the best I can as "Mother of the Bride" next March...
All suggestions and encouragement appreciated...
Pam

I'm really slowing down now because I'm still having those heart tremors. I'm going to the doctor Thursday to find out if it really is hormones as I suspect. It could be caffeine too. I've been drinking too much coffee lately. I think when I come off the caffeine high, then I get them. So I'll just have a cup a day for now on and then just try some decaf tea.
Needless to say, I'm still doing the treadmill, but I lowered my speed to 3.3 mph rather than 3.6. It takes me longer to go the three miles, so I think I'll knock it down to 50 minutes.
In the meantime, despite the heart tremors, I feel great. I think I've shed the extra pounds I put on this summer. I'll know Thursday when I get on a scale that works!
It is a new week, ladies! Time to regroup. How are we all doing?

Theresa, hope all goes well at the doctors.
Pam, definately start out slow and work your way up. You have to always remember that it's better to start slow and to not over do it. Once you get into a regular routine it can be smooth sailing from there.
I've not exercised in a couple of weeks now, and while I feel guilty I know it's better that I listen to the doctors for a while anyhow. 5 more weeks of this and I think I may go bonkers,

Needed physiotherapy today.... they recommend still doing classes, but at reduced intensity... ha... as if I could do any more than that.. lol...
Oh well.... its gotta get better, and despite the pain, I can feel some improvement.... the stairs don't seem quite so steep....

Today I've been cleaning lots and took a break because I was getting a bit tired. I cleaned my bathroom and the main bathroom, I wiped down the stove, part of the counter in the kitchen, and the table, washed the dishes and have been helping the kids with their chores. We've cleaned the fish bowl out, done laundry, folded laundry and put it away and I've got to get my daughter to vacuum and clean her room, and get the younger kids to help me clean their room. Then my dh and I plan to finish painting my son's room.
When the kids are done with their jobs we're going to pick pumpkins and will probably decorate them tonight.
I've got to do some weight lifting exercises with my new weights (3 lb so they're not very big) to help strengthen my shoulder and back so my ribs will stay in and I hope to walk a couple miles with my family.
Keep up the great work! I'll try to post more regularly. ttfn

What did the doctor say? How are you doing? My Dad had something similar and thought he was having a heart attack. He stopped the caffine and the palpatations went away. I hope your symptoms are as easily cured. Keep us posted.
