Noise Reduction Software

I'm gradually improving the quality of my photos but still have some challenges with low light.

I just got a great shot of my 3 yr. old grandaughter but it's slightly underexposed and there's a lot of noise.I was shooting at ISO 800, natural light.

The photo looks better after adjustments in PSE, but thought it's time to look at noise reduction software.

 

I plan to buy Lightroom in the next month,but from what I gather reading reviews online, LR isn't the best way to solve problems with digital noise.

 

Any suggestions for a LR plug-in or stand alone software to reduce noise?

The ones I've seen are photoshop plug-ins. I haven't tried one, but I have the name of one someone recommended in my notes somewhere.... it may take me a while to find it.

I like one from Imagenomic; it works very well. Last I knew they had two versions, lay person and professional, which was more expensive. I'm pretty sure we got the less expensive version.

i have the same as cheri....its called noiseware and works as a plug in filter in photoshop

I checked out Imagenomic and I think I'll get the stand alone version since I have Photoshop Elements, not full Photoshop. I assume the plug-in wouldn't work on PSE.

 

I was amazed at the before and after shots on the portrait software too. That would be fun to use!
