scrappylibrarian
I have an item that I want to scan which has a lot of cutout detail. Is there anyway to create a PNG file from a scan? Or some other format where I could use this item? I typically use MS Picture It 9 or GIMP and have HP scanning software. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks! DDecker
I have done this with PSE3 and PSPX. Scan at high resolution and b&w to make it easier to select the areas to remove. After you scan and save you have to go in and remove the part that you don't want, I use the magic wand selector tool to do this. Once you have just the image with a transparent background zoom WAY in and clean up any areas with the eraser and then reduce to 500X500 pixels and save as a .png. Hope this helps, some one else will probably be by with another suggestion.
