Help
I had the email last night. I just got the phone call from the Family Readiness Group. The redeployment ceremony will be at 0200 Thursday morning.
DH will need to spend a few days at Ft. Hood and then he will be on his way HOME!

I'm so happy for you. My granddaughter is waiting now for news; her hubby's year will be up the middle of June, and there are rumors going around that they will be home a little early, but of course no confirmation yet. I think there was a meeting today, but I haven't heard from her yet.

The redeployment ceremony has been canceled. The plane is experiencing mechanical problems which will take 24 to 48 hours to fix. DH will not be home in time for our wedding anniversary. Right now, he does not think that he will be home in time for DD's dance recital on the 22nd.

Just got off the phone with DH. He is in Newfoundland.
Redeployment ceremony is scheduled for 2000. DH is still not sure when he can get a flight home. It depends on whether or not the SRP site is open tomorrow, whether or not he has to get his TB Tine before leaving hood, and turning in gear.
I talked to oldest DS last night when I tucked him into bed. He said that he would have to "get used to having Dad around to help him." Guess that's how he thinks of discipline now. Whoo! Hoo!

There is a theory that it is healthier and safer to keep them with the unit for a bit to de-stress and get over the worst of the fatigue - it seems to cut down on accidents. I know that's not what families want to hear, but if it saves lives, it's worth it. You will all have some adjustments getting used to him being home - and "having Dad around to help him" is a great way to look at it!

DH has a flight home tomorrow morning. The BDE CMDR does not want to keep the PROFIS around when they could be home with their families. So, they had the TB tine done last night with a memo saying that it needs to be read on Monday. They subhand receipted his equipment for the supply sergeant to turn in. He has a flight back home tomorrow. We will pick him up around noon. I will tell the kids after we eat lunch.
DH will "work" for the next two weeks before going on block leave. That way, he will be on leave at the end of June and can volunteer at Cub Scout Camp.
