I help with team and individual photos for my church's Upward Basketball program in the winter (does anyone have this program at their church? It's incredible!). I think it would be really cool to personalize the basketballs in the photos. Where the ball usually reads "Rawlings" or "Spalding" or whatever brand it is, I'd like to change it to "Christ" or "Bailey Christian Church" or something Godly. Any suggestions how to do this? I assume I'd need a layer style that looks like black leather??? If the kids hold the ball with the blank side facing the camera, then it should be easy to just add the font to the ball, then add a layer style to make it look real. RIGHT???? I'd appreciate suggestions.

I would suggest adding this ScrapSimple Tools - Styles: Black Leather 4901 - Commercial License to your text. You would need this commercial license version of the style since it isn't for personal use.

You could always "engrave" the words into the side of the basketball:
ScrapSimple Tools - Styles: Engraved 8301 Mini - Commercial License

The reptile (green) style from this week’s new Style Set, Animal Print 6301 (426-000089-SNU) would work. It looks just like the texture of a basketball. You’d have to simplify it and then change the color, but the texture would be perfect!
And every one needs some animal skin styles anyway!
