Cropalot
I'm slowly adapting to Apple and PSE8. In PSE6 on Windows I would go into my effects and the shadows and embossing were under one heading. Now they are grouped in with layer styles and the All boxes. Is that the way it is now, or did I install them incorrectly? It is quite a bother to go through all my styles to find shadows which I use on practically every layout. They are just mixed in, not at the top or bottom of the lists. MLLatscrapgirls
Sorry I don't know on a Mac - they were always their own category on my PC and in layer styles as far as I know - but they are that way on my PSE too (Bevels and Drop Shadows). I don't know if you can change the categories in the xml file on a Mac the way you can on a PC.
mrstucci
Hi-I use PSE8 on a Mac and you are correct-they are all lumped together. My only answer is to print out the whole list and I refer to that when I am trying to find something. I do this by going to into the folder where they are and selecting the whole list (Command + a), and then copy (Command + c) it and then open Text Edit and paste (Command + v) into a new document. Then I print the list out. It's not a perfect solution but the only one that I have come across............ PS-they are 'sort' of in alphabetical order........... Cropalot
Thank you. I'm sorry, I just now found your post. Do you know of a place where I can issue a request for improvement on PSE9? Or is it Mac that is the problem?

Burnsie
Lou Ann, That has been annoying to me too...since I am a styles addict and have dozens and dozens of them! I believe that Adobe does not intend for the Elements programs to be as customizable as we would like them to be. That's what the full versions (and full prices) are for! mrstucci
And to add to my frustration is the fact that many of the Adobe installed styles are duplicated! And from what I found out from others that use PSE, there is no way to get rid of the duplicates! As if I didn't have enough crap to wade through to find the style that I want! Aargh.
