I've got a lot of brush sets that didn't come with a preview sheet but have the individual pngs. Is there an easy way to combine all these pngs on one sheet without have to open them all and drag them one by one onto a new psd? I use pse6 and vista.

Nana, I was just dealing with the same thing yesterday evening--wouldn't you know it?

I made a new document that was about 2000 x 2000 pixels, white background, then added another layer. I installed the brush file, and picked a dark blue-green color (it could've been black; I just felt like a color.) I selected the first brush in the set, and using the Left Bracket symbol " [ ", resized it down to about 250 pixels and stamped it on the upper left corner. Then I selected the next brush, resized down to 250, and kept going until all were done. I added a text title with the name and designer.

Resized this down to 600x600 pixels and saved as a jpeg: BrushName_DesignerInitials.jpg. I copied that file and saved as folder.jpg, also, to assure it would be the folder image preview. This didn't take very long.

Undo the re-size, clear the brush layer in your document, and continue with the next set of brushes. Thank goodness Scrap Girls brushes include previews!

I just copy the marketing image from the boutique for this. Make sure you've hovered over the image to get the larger one, right click and save. I used to do it with everything I bought, but thankfully the marketing images are included with the newer things.

Yep, I use the marketing image to browse my brushes too. In fact, I copy all the marketing images (if it's not already included with the download) and put them in the folder along with the product files. And I tag the images with the word "preview" so that I can view them all at once. So I would search "brushes preview" and I'll get a preview of all my brushes. (I use Picasa 3)

I do it like Barb said with making a page of the ones that don't have previews. I also do it for my huge amount of style. Then store each one in a folder, one for brushes & one for styles. Then I can preview them all together in PS Bridge. I would always go back & use the same ones over & over never exploring new ones that I had gotten. Since I started doing this I'm using a bigger variety & by looking for just the right one in Bridge I see all of them that I have & am getting them all in my head better. See, maybe this old dog can learn new tricks! lol

Ann, you mentioned the most important part--styles. I'd started making my own previews here, as I wanted larger examples of the styles. USING them and making my own preview is a very effective way for me to really learn than their capabilities.

Like April, Amanda & Elisha, I always drag the marketing images (Firefox) and the sample images to my folders as well. Pick ONE of these to copy and rename folder.jpg to get guaranteed, rock-solid control of the folder image preview in Windows, no matter how you move the folder around. (Note: in Internet Explorer, right-click the large, hover image and choose, copy image. Dragging the image in IE drags a hyperlink shortcut instead of the image. Firefox is great because you can drag the image directly. Google Chrome lets you drag, but sadly uses the same name for everything, store.scrapgirls.jpg, and so overwrites each one--ack)

I also rename the preview images and marketing images for consistency. To do this on many files, check out "bulk renaming utility;" it makes this a snap.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I've been working away at the method that Barbara told me about earlier today and it's going pretty fast - I still have a way to go, but that's because I collect too much stuff! Wish I didn't have to work - I could get so much more done! (Course, today I'm off work and here it is 2pm and I'm still in my jammies and been here since 6am ... so, LOL, maybe it's a GOOD thing that I have to work!)

I'm excited to get them organized because I couldn't do a quick look-see so I don't use them. I use ACDSee for organizing (despite the "ACDSee is shutting down now" that I seem to get for no reason at least once a day) anyway.... I have a "digital inventory" folder and a sub folder in that for "____Brushes" (I put the lines in before the name so it is at the top of my list) and then sub files in Brushes that I broke down into animals, floral, doodles, grunge etc. I've tagged all the brush set previews as "Brushes" so I can browse them all if I want but then also tagged them in appropriate sub folders so if I know what theme I want I can go right to it, load 'em and keep on going! I think this is going to work good for me, but it's fun to see how others organize their "stuff."
