Living in Texas right now, summers are very hot, so escaping to Alaska is wonderful! Have done it 3 times so far, not this year, but maybe next.... jobim Posted July 17, 2010 Share Posted July 17, 2010 Swimming! I used to swim an hour a day in grad school, every day, even when it was snowing & blustery outside (inside natatorium, of course.) Especially now, in the Southwest, because the monsoons are getting ready to start, along with the overly dramatic booming of thunder, the flash of lightning, the smell of creosote in the air... During the year there just is not enough time to slow down and play. KayMitch Posted July 17, 2010 Share Posted July 17, 2010 Hi! I work for the school district, and have the summers off!! My favorite thing to do in the summer, believe it or not, it to GET ORGANIZED! This means cleaning out closets, cleaning up the scrapbook/craft room, organizing my recipies, anything that needs to be "put in order". It feels great to go back in the fall without many of those nagging unfinished projects out of the way! I also like to spend "porch time" with my friends and enjoy the lazy days of summer! OOH I love being organized too Snowprincess. So enjoy all the things you said. What a wonderful generous offer Ro, Thankyou. One of my favoutite things to do in the Summer is having family and friends over for a BBQ around the pool then just DH and I swimming late into the night looking up at the beautiful starry sky. We were celebrating their graduation from High School. They swam with dolphins and together we did Sea World, the Wild Animal Park and the Zoo. Here in Colorado there isn't much open water to play in during summer. Next favorite, and most often these days is to sit out with my husband and any kids around and eat dinner on the patio. We spend the day going to eat, then shopping. One of our favorite restaurants is Olive Garden. One of my favorites is when my cousin brings her sweet 3 children to join in.
