Hello there!
I'm just curious to see if anyone here in the digital scrapping world uses music as inspiration, or listens to tunes as they are scrapping.
I tend to listen to Mika while scrapping, his music is so happy and wonderful. I'm not quite sure how it started, but it's now
a tradition to play my Mika music on iTunes when i start scrapping. :)

When I'm scrapping, I usually have either music playing or the TV turned on. Nothing in particular... sometimes baseball games, sometimes Broadway musicals, sometimes other kinds of music. Depends on my mood.

I've never heard of Mika. I'll have to look up his music online.

I listen to music while scrapping - I either listen on my Ipod or I have a CD playing and I do watch tv while scrapping too - multi-tasking, you know? LOL

I haven't scrapped in a while, but when I did I usually watch sports on TV. Hockey, Baseball, College Basketball or College Football. Hopefully, if I get this job that I applied for I can get back to a regular schedule and do some more scrapping. Karen

Generally when I'm scrapping DH is watching sports or playing video games. So that's my background music :) But if I am alone, I will turn on my iTunes, usually on randomize.

I've got to have something on in the background, but it is usually the TV. Though, sometimes I'll put my zune on and listen to some country music while I scrap.

Itend to have nothing playing when I'm scrapping lately. It used to be the TV, but I haven't even been bothing to turn that on lately. Sometimes I will turn the Christian radio station on my computer. Lately it's been the noise of the fan running on the AC! :going-crazy:

I sometimes have TV on while I am scrapping but, find that I haven't a clue as to what is going on so most of the time it is just me and PSE! (Like my rhyming? LOL) The only time I listen to the radio is when I am driving or getting ready in the morning. My daughter said I should get an Ipod last week and I said that would be a waste of money since I would hardly ever use it. :P

I usually like it quiet when I scrap. Sometimes I have the TV on, and it's usually an old classic movie that I've already seen so I don't have to actually 'watch' it. It's just for the company.

Like right now I'm watching TCM and they are showing scenes from "All About Eve". Love that movie. Bette was so incredible in that.

If I am alone, I listen to music. However, my laptop is on a desk in the living room and my DH ALWAYS has the TV on. Sometimes I put my iPod on but then he decides he wants to talk to me and I keep having to take the headphones off so I can hear him!

I like music when I scrap. It has to match the mood of the layout or thing I'm creating, for example sweet music or jazz for a loving layout, hip hop or fun, quick music for a fun/party layout, etc. I have playlists for different moods (Love, Dance, Cleaning, Inspired, etc.)

Most of the time my background noise is my kids watching a movie or their laughter coming from their playroom. But if they are sleeping and the house is quite, I will scrap to Pandora.

Ok, this is too funny... sometimes I scrap with headphones on and no sound emitting from them! It's my quiet spot where no one can get to me except the bravest of children. With babysitting the triplets (twins & big brother) and raising our granddaughter (now knighted into daughterhood) I crave everybit of quiet I can get!!
But sometimes I will listen to soothing music and split the screen with Photoshop and the swirly stuff from the windows music player.

Sometimes I play music, but most times I enjoy the quiet of the house or the evening when I'm scrapping. With all the input all day long I enjoy the quiet. Alot.

A decade ago I would have listened to music while scrappin'. But now I scrap in one of two situations. Most often I hear the sounds of my kids. That might include their music! Or, if they are asleep or out with their Dad, then I scrap in much appreciated silence. :)

My background music is the music on the PBS shows I put on for my little one to keep him occupied in hopes that I can finish a LO.

I mostly scrap in quiet, but I write software code with my iPod on sacred music (all variants--uptempo, classical, peaceful, tejano, you name it) or vocalists like Natalie Cole, Sting, Eartha Kitt, Celtic Woman, Hayley Westenraa, Sarah Brightman, sometimes Willie Nelson, James Taylor. Also Broadway musicals or Gilbert & Sullivan, Victory at Sea, Grand Canyon Suite, La Mer, Enya, you name it.

I like variety, but I choose a string of whatever I pick, so it just blocks out office noises to allow concentration. Shuffle is too distracting for me.

Ditto here, quite often! Of course it's actually usually Dora or Backyardigans for my little one hehe.

I love Mika, Mel! I haven't listened to his stuff in quite a while. Time to add it to the playlist.

I usually have some sort of noise going on around me. Kids watching t.v., kids being kids, hubby watching t.v. (there is nothing more aggravating than trying to focus while Forumla One type racing is playing on the t.v....) or on the rare occasion those things aren't happening... I turn on some tunes. I've got several playlists on my Zune and usually listen to upbeat, fun stuff. I've been listening to the Glee music a LOT lately. If it's late at night though I usually scrap in silence and thoroughly enjoy that too.

Interesting thread! I love hearing how you all work.

I rarely listen to music while scrapping. If I do - it must be instrumental. Words distract me. :dunno: I'll have some smooth jazz, instrumental hymns, or piano music. Pandora is wonderful - and Gayle is right - the more you listen and tell it what you like and don't like, it gets better and better. I have a station based on Dino (known as the Christian Liberace ^_^ ) that I love to have in the background.

I always listen to music while scrapping! I listen to hip hop rap and that stuff. I started to do this when I was in school and the teachers would play music while we worked.

I usually have the TV on. I sit in my recliner while the kids play while we have the TV on for sound.

Otherwise a nice quiet house is good for concentration B)

i have to have music in the background, for whatever i'm doing. most of the time i zone it out, especially when i'm really focusing, but i need the background noise. writing tests/exams for school is horrible without my music, i feel like i would do better if they allowed music.
