Most designers instinctively know these and don’t think too much about them, but some of us are “design-impaired” and need a little help! We’re going to focus on one of the principles, UNITY. When unity is achieved, all the individual parts come together to form a whole. There a different ways to achieve unity. One is by REPETITION. So for your challenge… Repeat an element, texture, shape, etc several times. For example, use tons of buttons! Or repeat a piece of ric rac over and over. Or use a brush in a repetitive manner! While repetition can create unity and interest, don’t overdo it! That can be boring! Try to find a way to keep things interesting by varying your repeated elements just slightly, and don’t let it overpower your page. Hope you have fun with this and be sure to show us your layouts! I would appreciate some feedback because I'm not too sure if the page looks [b]TOO [/b] busy, too dark, or if it is an effective use of repetition. I'm also trying to go outside my comfort zone and "cut/crop" my pictures into circles - rather than my usual rectangles and squares.
