Finally....I got to hold Sawyer today! It was wonderful! He's doing good! He eats like a little piggy, which is good! He never even lost weight while in the hospital, which is usually normal! And he has even gained some weight at his 1 week check-up yesterday.
I am so thankful for all you SG's prayers! I KNOW that helped so much as the doctors call him our little miracle baby! I just love the smell of newborns!

I have a little story to tell....very few people know this......Sawyer's daddy....my oldest son, Steve....is really my half-brother, who we adopted when my Mom died when he was barely 4. He is only 7 months difference in age then my first born, Jennifer. But I never remember that he's adopted, unless we are talking about giving birth to our children, then I remember. Well my Mom and Steve lived with us most of his life, till she passed away, as my Mom had alot of health issues, then getting lung cancer and it took her life. He calls my ex Dad and me Mom, but he also knows that he has a Mom in heaven too. On the day of graduation, it was raining, and they played "Holes in the floor of Heaven" and I knew Mom was looking down on both Steve and my DD when they graduated high school. And also on the day my DD got married, that song was dedicated to my Mom, needless to say I cried like a baby. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss my Mom and she's been gone 25 years now.

Anyway I told you this to tell you what happened with Steve the night they brought Sawyer home. When Steve was a baby, Mom would always lay him on the couch to change him and by golly as soon as that diaper was opened....Steve was peeing all over the place, over and over again. It happened everytime we took his diaper off. I told him when I heard he was having a boy, "look out, cause if he takes after you, you better have a changing table" He didn't believe me. Well that first night home, Sawyer pooped, so Steve was changing him (on the couch), and he pee-ed all over Steve, Steve cleaned him up and went to put another dry diaper on him and he pee-ed again all over everywhere. He seems to do this each time he is changed now. I laughed so hard when I heard this.....cause I told him you did it to us, so it's your turn! Hehehehe Though Steve isn't amused. LOL

Oh, wow - Di - I am so glad you finally got to hold that little guy. I bet he is precious. And I loved your story about Steve and the diaper change! Been through that and had that happen with all three of my boy's at one or another and it was even funnier when my little Grandson did it too for the first time. I think that's one of the most fun things about being a Grandmother --- we get to laugh! And watch them scramble for cover!

LOL I had been expecting to be peed on by my son at some point, but he never did when he was a baby. He's making up for it though, by taking a long time to accept the toilet!

I hope you get many snuggles with your grandson while he's so little. Babies grow so fast!

I'm so glad you finally got to hold the little guy:) And teehee, it's great to be a Grandma b/c you don't have to change him unless you want to, and thus can stay clear! ;)
ROTFL that they both peed all over the place each and every time! (One of my 3 did that too for the first 3 weeks of life, then never did it again).

I'm so glad you finally got to hold Sawyer. The first time you hold your grandchild is the most overwhelming feeling of joy. I tear up just thinking about it.

Thank you all! He is a little gem! I seen him over the weekend at my daughters old house for my DGD's 2nd birthday. They live in NC now and came up to have the party, at their old house that isn't sold yet, since that's where all the family is. Sawyer is growing like crazy! And I seen him smile....of course we all know the docs say that is gas. LOL But gramma knows, because when that boy has gas....he doesn't smile, he screams....had some of that while holding him this past weekend!! :winking_baby:
