What a week. My "little" guy is here, though! I say "little" because he came to meet us all at 10 lbs 5 oz and 22.5 in long. Everyone says how big that is and I guess when I think of "big," I think of a "butterball" look. He's not pudgy like that...just long and filled out. lol
My doctor had some extra tests run on me the latter part of last week and when I went in on Friday, I was told that I had "failed" my tests and that I had pre-eclampsia (sorry...not going to stop to look up the spelling of it.) So, she said we were going to head over to the hospital to deliver the baby. I said, "So, should we move our car over to the hospital parking lot?" (It was next door to the doctor's building.) She had an interesting look on her face...probably 'cause she realized I didn't "get it." She said, "No. We are sitting you in a wheelchair and taking you over there to deliver this baby." I said, "Now?" lol
Between the pre-eclampsia and my big fibroid right in the way of everything...it seemed to be a rather "serious" situation.
Well...all things considered, the c-section went well. But for several reasons and the risks for my health, my doctor strongly suggests that I don't have anymore children. I was probably leaning that way, anyway. But, it is sort of an "odd" feeling to know that I "shouldn't."
While at the hospital, my blood pressure was really high. It will be something we can joke about in years to come, but they didn't even want me to go take a shower. I was almost begging. lol They did say at one point, that they (the nurses) would go in there with me if I just "had" to have that shower. Uh...no thanks. lol I don't know enough about blood pressure...I guess they thought the shower would be too much activity on my system? The day we were going to leave, they wouldn't let me go until the blood pressure was low enough...so I had to try a couple of different medicines and have my pressure checked each hour. We finally left at 9:00 pm. I am having to continue that medicine for now.
Anyway...this "little" guy is so precious. He isn't quite up to speed on knowing that he should be sleeping at night and not during the day. lol But...this compared to when the twins had come home...I am getting a lot more rest than I did then.
Here's a couple of pics for now.
Oh, before I forget, his name is Nathan Richard Crowder.
