My husband very much dislikes Reality TV. He feels it is a form of voyeurism. I'm not a big watcher, but there are a couple that I indulge in.
Which do you indulge in?

I live for Survivor and Dancing with the Stars. They're moving Survivor to Wednesdays and I'm at choir practice every Wednesday. Boo. I'll have to catch them online.

I also really like America's Got Talent.

You didn't put my favorite reality show. Amazing Race. I watch that and the biggest loser. My mom watches a lot of them. She's watching Big Brother right now on DVR. I hate that show.

Every once in a great while I will watch "So You Think You Can Dance" depending on who is on it - but I really don't care much for the others -

My husband isn't a big fan of reality TV either, but I do watch Project Runway every week & Top Chef once in a while. I like DVRing the shows because then I can skip the catty junk and enjoy the creating. :)

We watch American Idol, but I don't know about this season. I really didn't enjoy last year.
I like the Biggest Loser too, but I usually watch it on line.

That's a fav of mine too! We usually find that to be pretty fun family entertainment. (Every so often there's a nasty team on there and we "forget" to watch the show with the kids during those seasons)

I'm feeling less and less enthusiastic about this season. I'll miss Simon. He could be rude, but he usually had the same opinions of contestants as I did so that was fun for me. No matter who ends up in the judges' spots the dynamics will be so different it won't feel like the American Idol I've enjoyed up to this point.

Honestly we NEVER have time but when we use to watch, we loved to watch American Idol. I couldn't get over how some people would try out and really be just horrible! It was so funny to watch, but then by the end it was really nice to see the real talents emerge. But we haven't watched since, gosh, Clay Aiken or Fantasia was on there, I forget which it was or was that the same year? Hmmm

Sorry I missed out on so many other favorites. I think you were able to add them. If not I'll add them. As you can tell I don't watch many of them myself. I couldn't think of many of them for the life of me and my husband was no help.

thanks for adding your inputs.

I started out watching Survivor when it first came out, faithfully tuning in for the first 4 ‘events’. Then, I suddenly got SO tired of it and promptly quit.

I have to say that I have grown to pretty much detest most of the real Reality Shows because they have absolutely taken over TV. Cheaper to make and with the public seaming to just love all of the meanness, back-stabbing, walking-over-anyone-to-get-what-they-want character traits so prevalent on these shows; they are taking up WAY too much of the space for the dramas that have always been my favorites. The writers and stations always take an idea that does well and then drum it into the ground!

The only ones I now watch are American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, which are really more talent contests without all the bad character traits.

PS – Hope this doesn’t offend anyone—it’s only ‘my’ feelings.

I just like TV in general. I do watch quite a bit of reality TV regularly. My favorites are Biggest Loser, Amazing Race, Dancing with the Stars, The Next Food Network Star, and The Next Iron Chef. And sometimes I'll watch American Idol, ***'s Kitchen, Survivor, or America's Next Top Model...but it depends on the season. Sometimes I just don't find myself interested in the cast, so I quit after the first couple weeks. I just started watching Project Runway. My parents really like Master Chef (the one with Chef Ramsey - not Top Chef)

I'm pretty much a TV person, but for some reason I just don't care for the "reality" shows. I guess the closest thing to reality TV I watch is Judge Judy. I just think she's hilarious, and I do usually watch her show while I'm getting things ready for dinner.

Most of them seem invasive to me, but I confess I watch Clean House while I'm on the exercise bike. I'm usually motivated to do a little straightening up after it's over. :)

Dancing with the Stars and the Design Star (HGTV) are the only two 'reality' shows that I watch. I don't like regular tv and I usually only watch HGTV, SciFy, and some other cable channels. I did watch 24, but now it's no longer on the air. And of course, I Love Lucy reruns, The Cosby Show, M*A*S*H and one or two others and TCM and the old movies they show.

I really don't watch any of those. I like to watch "Clean House" and those type of shows.

I watch the Food Network reality shows, but that's even hit or miss. I'm not a big fan of reality tv. I'd much rather watch sports or NCIS/CSI type shows. During the day, when the girls are in school, I watch a lot of court shows....and love Judy just like Joyce!

My husband and I loathe reality shows...we have enough reality of our own! We enjoy watching dramas and comedies but during the fall we usually record our shows during the week and catch up on the weekend.

I watch Biggest Loser, not really into the game playing but I love to see their lives change. I also have great respect for Bob & Jillian - they get the job done. LOL

I also LOVE So You Think You Can Dance. Already missing it since it's over for now. LOL If any of you watched it this season I thought Kent & Lauren were great! Kent looks just like my son Kai (or at least what I think Kai could look like when he is that age). Kai is only 6 now, but I'll tell you what - my whole family felt that Kent's mannerisms, smile, & overall features were a dead ringer for Kai. :)

One that I stumbled across that I really like is American Pickers, I think it is on the History Channel. Love seeing what they find and they meet some interesting people. :)
