Could you please mention my DH, Steve, in your prayers today? He's having his spinal cord stimulator removed. We were very hopeful that this device would give him relief from his chronic pain, but it hasn't. After adjustment after adjustment after adjustment, he decided to have it taken out.

Minor procedure, but surgery none the less. Thanks!

Of course, Elisha! I'm sorry the device didn't help your dh. My back is sometimes very painful, but I can't imagine constant pain. I will pray for you and your husband.

Thank you! We are home now. Although Steve spent and extraordinary amount of time in recovery - that worried me - they assured me that he was just asleep. Things went well, and he's resting comfortably in bed.

Maybe one day we'll find something that works to ease the chronic pain. The meds manage the pain making it tolerable when he's in a resting position, but not so well when he's engaged in any kind of activity. It's frustrating and disheartening when we can't even take a walk together. He's only 43.

I'm glad the procedure went well. And yes, that does sound frustrating to no end to not even be able to take a walk together:(

Elisha, I am so glad that the surgery went well and that your DH is home. I just can't imagine and hope that something is found that will help ease or completely take away his chronic pain...that just can't be easy.

Thank you for updating us on his surgery.

Elisha, I'm sorry I didn't see this this morning; I had to count money at Church. I am so glad it went well and that he is resting at home. I will be praying for relief from pain for him. I understand what a terrible thing chronic pain can be.

I'm so glad things went well! I hope they find something soon that helps him and all back-pain suffers. That can make life so miserable for the whole family, not just the individual (my dad has suffered for years).

Elisha, I will certainly keep your husband in my prayers that he find some relief from his pain. I will keep you at the top of the list; having to stay strong for a love one that is hurting can be very hard. Blessings to your family today.
