Windows brings the photos in by date (I find it is much happier if I let it decide where to put them.) If they are all from one occasion, I tag them as they are imported using Windows. Then I tag them in Picasa for actual usage and sorting. At the end of the year, or as the mood strikes me, I move them into a folder just for that year in the Pictures Library. I sort by date of picture was taken and then I add where I was or something important to me. So my 2010 folder has subfolders for months (01Jan, 02Feb, etc.) Any random photos from the month just sit in the month subfolder, but if there is an event, I create a subfolder in the month with the event name (CC meet at location). It's just me and the puppy and I'm ready to play again! task 1: complete task 2: complete task 3: complete ... my sorting method involves using cut/paste from the camera card into appropriate folders; folders are sorted by date (year and month) and by caption within each folder. All originals are kept this way. As photos are used or modified they are then saved into project specific folders. task 4: complete (well sort of ... not sure why I can't get the hyperlink to take in my Word doc, but I have the full link listed. Task 1 -- Completed Task 2 -- Completed and here is the link to the photo: Blue Mountain Task 3 -- completed I transfer my photos from my camera into PSE8 photo gallery where I delete the ones that I don't want to keep. They are also uploaded automatically to C:Pictures into files according to date. I then go in and rename the files the photos were placed into categories of who, what, where or when. They are also saved to my EHD and Mozy backs up my files as well. Didn't make it to the chat, as I'm just starting the Simplify September game.
