Inspiration All Around Me

I thought it was just the resort, but last night my DH took me out to dinner and it happened again at the restaurant. I'm starting to look at things in a whole new way and I think it's pretty neat. I just wanted to share this with all my SGfriends. I don't know why it seems to have just clicked with me but I'm so glad it did!
How do each of you get your inspiration?

Brenda, the same kind of thing has happened to me too - I will be somewhere downtown at one of our favorite spots - we like to sit outside at several of the local restaurants in the summertime - and just the "local color" walking by will inspire me - for instance, one day this guy walked by our table with a huge white parrot on his shoulder - the guy looked like what I imagine a pirate would look like but without the eye patch - I remember jumping almost over my table to catch him before he continue to walk on by - I was seeing the guy, but in my mind, I was seeing a layout! And he was nice enough to let me take his picture and I came home and immediately did a layout - it's gone now, but I will go and find it and re-post it again - I usually get an inspiration in the middle of the night most times though - they just come to me and sometimes I have to get up and either do a quick sketch or actually do the layout before I forget - when I want to do a layout, sometimes my brain freezes and I can't think of a thing to do. So I know what you mean - inspiration is everywhere to be found, I think. Will come back and add my layout here for you to see - I had taken all of my layouts down so it's no longer on here - but I'd like to add it back. Oh, and I had to put an eye patch on him with Valerie's Pirate Collection (I am pretty sure it was Valerie's - need to check now)

Ann, you have really become quite the artist around SG - I am so impressed with the layouts you've been doing lately and I can see that you put so much love into your layouts. I think you do some awesome layouts and I always enjoy seeing them. You are so creative. Thanks for all of the memories and treasures you have shared here with us.

IF I get any inspiration - which seems to have just disappeared lately - I find myself getting it from magazine ads, menu's (which I see things I know I could make look so much better since that was my job as a graphic artist long ago) and of course, my main inspiration comes from our amazing layout artists and designers. I love what they do and they never cease to amaze me.

My daughter loves to take pictures and really has a good eye for getting great ones. Between her photographer's eye and mine for scrapbooking we run into some very fun and interesting "subjects" to take photos of. Rocks, dirt, clouds, ripples on water, stucco walls, bugs, reflections.... It's fun to go for a walk with her and just take photos! Of everything and anything!!
Colors get me every now and then. Or shapes. I can be watching TV and when that Cox commercial comes on it gets me every time with all the little rounded boxes in their gorgeous colors. I find myself watching commercials with more interest all the time. HGTV has great inspiration in their commercials.
Another time we pulled in to one of our new Taco Bell drive thrus and my first comment was...Those colors (that the building were painted in) would be so great for a layout!
Something fun that hit me today as I was looking through the daily newsletter...You know you have been a part of Scrapgirls for a while when you can look at the children in the photos in the layouts shown in the newsletter and know who's kids they are before you even see the name of the designer!!
