I have had PSP8 for years, but have never done much with it. I've used it for some screenshots in recent months. Just lately I have made some "birthday letters", mostly text in a frame. Now I want to do another one, but I need a very simple red frame. I have quite a lot of materials I've saved, but can't find a frame I can use.

Any suggestions? I thought maybe I had a frame I could recolor, but I don't.

Could you layer some red papers behind your text? That might work.

I want the text on a white background with just a narrow red border around the edge.

Check and see if PSE 8 has some built in frames. PSE 5 does. Mine are near where you find styles.

Thanks for replying. The program I use is PSP8 (Paint Shop Pro). I have checked the built in frames, but there is nothing appropriate. Most are too elaborate.

It sounds like you may just need to use a stroke. I'm not familiar with how to do that in PSP however.

My Gallery I scrap with Photoshop CS6, but can help with older versions: PS7, CS2 & CS4. Posted Image

Thanks for the suggestion, April. I have used strokes before. I'll have to see if it works for my purposes here.
