Hey ladies. How is the week going for you? Wednesdays starts my week over and I figured our other thread might get too long. (Of course, anyone can start a thread on any day.)

I went to the meeting site to weigh in and they had the 5 ingredient cookbook. Yay!
And I was down 5.8lbs. More Yay!!!
:party-smiley-048:

I usually do lose a substantial amount right at the beginning. But, it's soooo nice to see the scale go down instead of the up, up, up that it has been doing. I was completely on program this past week. Journaled (with eTools) everything. Well, I admit, I did not add any exercise. Not yet. At some point. lol

We took pizzas to a park for a family get-together on Saturday. I ordered one for "me" (not that I was going to eat more than 3 slices) and got one side of the thin crust with just veggies on it. I didn't miss the pepperonis or extra cheese. I did use some of those weekly points for that. (And for the dessert that someone brought.) And I haven't had one single large McDonald's sweet tea! That's major for me. lol I was having one, and sometimes two, a day. Yikes.

Let me go see what was added on the other thread...

Rose Ann said this:
I weighed in and am down a pound. Anybody else weigh in this week? How are you doing girls?

I had a first last night....I weighed 2oz. of dry pasta and cooked only that much. It was really funny, because usually I just dump the whole box into a huge pot of boiling water and eat whatever I want. Last night, even if I wanted more, I'd have had to cook it and that was just too much trouble! I added some veggies and olives and it all worked out, but what a strange feeling! (and good I guess) LOL

Awesome! :dancingstickman: <----doing the skinny dance! lol

The meal I cooked on Sunday: I dished it out and said, "This is it. No extras in the pots." lol Other than that, I'm pretty good at using my scale to weigh out my portion and sticking to it. It's nice, though, if I want to eat extra broccoli or green beans, etc. that I don't have to worry about the points for that.

So...down 5.8 and only, oh, about 75 more to go. lol Little victories at a time, though.

Great job Charlene!

I just started on Monday really journaling and counting the points, but so far, so good. I really like knowing that anytime I am hungry I can eat some fruit or veggies for 0 points. I have found a filling 3pt snack of a 4oz Dannon Light and Fit yogurt , a piece of fruit and a Special K 90 cal bar. I haven't tried any of the cookbook recipes yet, but I found several that look good.

I will weigh in on Friday-fingers crossed!

Hey ladies!! While I am not counting anything yet, I started Zumba last week and I LOVE it! I am doing it three mornings a week right now. The hour flies by and I would never workout that long if I was at home by myself just trudging along on my Elliptical. I am feeling you Charlene on the McDonalds tea. The first week was hard but I have discovered Vitamin water and another brand that I forget the name right now. Sobe Water maybe... I have lost 4 lbs in one week. I am so excited!!

That's it, Charlene, little victories one at a time. That tea is a major one....if you live in GA and don't drink sweet tea, they think you're from outer space or worse...New York! Trust me, I know.:space-man-smilie:

I'm down 1.5 # this month. Going for two, and need to lose 5 to get back to my lifetime weight. I hope this thread keeps me honest and going forward!

WTG, Charlene! Fantastic work sticking to the program. Keep up the good work!

I did not weigh in this week. I had a birthday on the weekend and just didn't want to see what the birthday pie did. {Yes, pie. I figured it was a little better than cake. Fruit and all that :-)}

DH and I just started this week, Mon is our weigh day. I've been logging what I eat on-line but I miss having the books that tell me how many points things are. They are on the way (ordered them on-line) but the point calculator is out of stock. I use those things all the time but I don't have any for the new program. So far so good.

Good morning, ladies. :daisy:

I was happy last night that I had enough points to enjoy a bowl of baked Doritos after the boys were in bed. lol Crunchy, salty snacks are my favorite. And being able to have fruits/veggies here and there throughout the day w/o points is great. I have a lot of points available/allotted each day due to my weight and Nathan is nursing. That's seven extra points for me. It would be twice that, or so, if he was solely nursing and not eating solids, too (like when he was younger.) It will be interesting when he stops and my points drop. But, I guess my food/energy needs would naturally drop anyway.

Melanie, sometimes I snack on light string cheese or a boiled egg. Or, of course, on fruit. My fingers are crossed for Friday.

Pab, congrats on the loss! I haven't found the time yet to add my exercise. Someone just gave us a Wii. It has WiiFit (or whatever it's called) with the balance board thing to step on. I'll have to ask my kids how to operate it. lol

Rose Ann, oddly enough, I haven't really missed/craved the tea. I did try an unsweet tea from Chick-fil-A once. Once! Ugh! How do people stand it? lol

Amy, Yay for the 1.5! I'm sure you'll get back yo the Lifetime weight.

Dot, belated Happy Birthday!
:bdayparty:

Brenda, I sure want a calculator, too. I told the leader that I would prepay for one if that would reserve me one. If you're using eTools, then I think you can access it through your phone. I don't use a fancy phone, though.

Belle, thanks for the encouragement. :2468who-do-we-appreciate:

Oh that's good news because I have an iPod touch! I'm getting a new phone sometime this month but it won't be an iPhone. I don't know if I can access the tools from anything else but I will check it out. thanks for the info!

Brenda, you can use this Online Calculator in the meantime.

I need to re-commit. I am fighting a few meds which cause weight gain. My Dr. did just change one, so hopefully that one change will help.

What is everyone using for motivation? Smaller clothes, pictures, visualization?

Today I received a smaller Vita Mix container, which will fit on the base and under the counter. I am a long time Vita Mix fan, from way back, and like fruit smoothies. Now I am experimenting with vegetable smoothies. I also ordered their popsicle maker for the freezer, which came with a few fruit and yogurt popsicle recipes which look refreshing.

Enough about me..... it's motivating to read how everyone is doing and what you are doing.

Weighed in this morning and I am down 3 pounds! Hooray, and I never once felt like I "couldn't" have something if I wanted it, which makes me think I will do okay with this new plan.

I also got in a walk yesterday during dd's softball practice.

Dot, I am definitely motivated by the on set of spring and hoping to fit into a smaller size. Also, we are planning to do family photos in April and so that is a big push for me to lose the weight. And lastly, I paid for the 3 month on line deal and know if I can lose the weight in that amount of time, I can use my money for SG supplies instead!!

Yay, Melanie!!!
:going-crazy:
That's fantastic!

Dot, I know being this big is unhealthy. But, vanity is my main motivation. Looking better, fitting back into my smaller clothes, thinking about taking the kids to the neighborhood pool. Ack! :embarrassed003:

Yeah Melanie! I weigh myself every day (I know, you're not supposed to do that) and I've done pretty good so far this week. My recording weigh day is Monday so I will wait til then to share my progress.

I don't really have anything I use for motivation except maybe getting on that scale every morning. I actually look forward to it when I'm sticking to the program. At least that will work until I hit the first plateau. I may need to find another something I can use as motivation. Pictures are always good. And I have some jeans that I can't wait to get back into.

I haven't been around the boards much & didn't know that this forum had started up again.
It sounds like you are all doing great. I am struggling with emotional eating and motivation
right now.

I do love the new program!

Laurie. Hi. :waving-hi:
I just dug this board up last week. It was surely buried. lol

I know what you mean about emotional eating. My problem is that any emotion triggers the "need" to eat for me.
Stress, boredom, sadness, hmmm...maybe it's just the "negative" emotions. It doesn't seem that happiness triggers it for me.
And I didn't have my motivation for quite some time. I had to dig that up, too. lol

I didn't mean for that to sound so short.
My little Nathan was waking up. I was trying to type fast. lol He's settled back down (for now.)
Anyway, I hope you can find your motivation. I agree about loving the new program. :happy039:

Today went pretty good! I forgot to eat breakfast as we were in a hurry this morning. For lunch I took the kids out to pizza buffet and had three small slices of ham/pineapple pizza and a big salad from the salad bar with low fat Ranch. I still have 9 points left for today so I am sure dinner will be a turkey sandwich on an Oroweat Sandwich thin. I had to laugh at myself at the salad bar as I was building my salad I was like "free, free, free uh oh not free, skip that!" It's a good thing no one was behind me.

 <----free points lol
Make sure to look all over the WW site. There are lots of tips and articles there.

Well ladies, how's your weekend going? I'm doing well with my points. I still need to add in exercise. Maybe pull out my old Walk Away the Pounds DVDs. I'm looking forward to a BBQ sandwiche later. :clapping_kitty:

We spent the evening with friends last night and I have to admit that I used plenty of weekly points but I'm still well within my allowance. We had some leftover chicken chili and fruit salad for lunch. I usually put cheese and chips in the chili to cool it down (my recipe is pretty spicy) but today I didn't do that. Instead I had a glass of 1% milk with it. Tonight will be family dinner and I am making pork chops in mushroom soup (in the crockpot). Did you know that the entire can of cream of mushroom soup in only 4 points? I will be baking potatoes, cauliflower, and zucchinni with rosemary, garlic, and a drizzle of olive oil. I'm looking forward to the scale tomorrow morning to see how much progress I made in my first week.

After church, the gang (the boys mainly) wanted to eat at Burger King. lol Not fancy, huh? Since Nathan's come along, we usually get "fast food" and take it home for lunch on Sundays. Luckily, I had my Dining Out book in the car so I could decide what to order. Otherwise, I know I would have picked the wrong things.

I just told my DH that I had stepped on the scale tonight and it was "good." And that I could really kick myself for putting it off for so long. Putting off going back to WW. I'm just glad I did, though.

I've been more or less lurking on this thread. It inspired me to go back to WW. I am a lifetime member, but I opted to do it on the web. I started Wednesday, and as of this morning I am down 1.5 pounds. It always comes off fast the first week. I'm still getting used to the new points system, but I do like keeping track of everything on the internet.

:2468who-do-we-appreciate: Cheers for all of you who are working on controlling your weight. :2468who-do-we-appreciate:
