I have sync toy installed on my pc, running with windows 7. I have pictures stored on an ehd(Fred), and tried to syc them to another ehd(Mimi)using synctoy2. The result is approximately 100,000 extra files. I have at least triplicates of several of the pictures.
1-How do I clean this mess up and get some disk space back?
2-Is there any program that will recognize and batch eliminate duplicates?
3-What is the correct procedure? I never want to be here again!!
Advice appreciated!!

I use sync toy and haven't had any problems, but I just use it between my desk top and my EHD. Are your duplicates on both your starting EHD and your Ending one? I hope that question made sense.

Ugh -- no fun! I think that ACDSee has a function that finds duplicate files. I have an older version, but when I upgraded to Win7, I didn't install it because I can tag and find in Windows. (Well, when I actually DO tag -- LOL!! I wish I had a little elf come in here at night and tag all my supplies!) You also may be able to search for all files with "copy" in the file name and delete them that way.

Hope you can find a painless solution!

I'm not familiar with that program, but it sounds like a mess! You have my sympathy!
