Hi ladies. :waving-hi:

Had the weigh-in this morning. All the ladies love Nathan. lol
:dancingstickman: <---- that's me! Happy with the scale.
Down 4.4 this week for a total of 10.2 gone.

How's everbody doing?

I love being able to eat "anything." I try to mix it up so that I don't get bored. Like for breakfast. Sometimes I have cereal, sometimes grits with scrambled eggs, and sometimes a whole wheat English muffin with a tbsp of peanut butter. I found that 2 tbsp is too much/too thick to me.

I love peanut butter. I just discovered Cinnamon Raisin Swirl by Peanut Butter & Co. Publix sells it...that's where I shop. You can "see" it at ilovepeanutbutter.com It's a bit grittier than the Jif that I'm used to, but I think it's yummy. I put a tbsp in my banana smoothie yesterday.

Way to go Charlene! It's not my weigh in day, but since I had a few days over points this week, I peeked at the scale and so far I am down for the week, but we'll see what the final number is on Friday.

I love peanut butter, too, I wish it wasn't so many points! I eat a tablespoon on a toasted sandwich thin with a sliced banana on top for breakfast. I may have try the English muffin, I like those, too.

Lent has started, which means no meat Fridays. That used to mean Fish Filets at McDonald's but obviously this year I will have to try some new recipes. Luckily dh and the kids like fish and shrimp, it's just not something I normally cook.

I really like the new program, too. I like knowing that I can have a high point main dish and round it out with a salad and only have to count the dressing. I found a 1 point dressing that I actaully like, too.

Are you able to stay for the meetings with Nathan, Charlene, or are you just stopping in to weigh?

Hope everyone is have a good week!

Congratulations, Char! WTG!

PB in the smoothie...I tried that and wasn't happy, although I like the individual ingredients. Funny. I am looking to mix it up with ingredients today. Maybe some almond flavoring.

I am OFF track big time and essentially need to start over. I think today is the day. Day One. Missed weigh in on Monday after the snowstorm left a foot of snow which froze my car in the driveway. I then walked to the dental appt., which wasn't really far away, but fell in the deep snow on the walk home. (I was far away from the road and out of the line of sight of rescuers and had Little House on the Prairie visions.) Tylenol didn't help the dental pain, and by 7 PM I wasn't overly happy and joyous and looking forward to a scale, if you get my drift (get it, drift?) Ugh, winter. Go away. Hopefully next week will go better on weigh in day.

Great work Charlene!! It's awesome that you are inspiring everyone!

Have you all tried PB2? It is powdered peanut butter. You can use it powdered in smoothies or "mix it up" to spread onto your bread/toast.

Forgot to say that I can buy it at local grocery stores. (in the city here) I'm sure the larger grocery stores around you have it as well. Health food stores are apt to carry it too...

Thanks ladies. :)

Melanie, I haven't stayed for a meeting yet. I was thinking about it today. But, it wasn't going to start for another 15 minutes. I didn't want to "entertain" Nathan for that long plus "entertain" him during the meeting. One day...maybe when I hit a big milestone, like 25 pounds lost.

Dot, I caught your "drift." lol Although I hate picturing you down in the snow. Glad you weren't injured!
And, yes, today can be "the day." :walkinghelmet:

Conda, I've heard about PB2 in previous WW adventures. lol But, I've never really checked into it. When my points drop quite a bit, I might look more into it. Right now, I have plenty of points to work with.

It's nice that I haven't had the cravings (yet?) that I thought I might. I don't miss my McDonald's large sweet tea. Or Little Debbie snack cakes. Or Zaxby's Wings N Things meals. lol (That's a fast food place...the meal is wings and chicken fingers...and fries. Lots of points!)

I've got to get Nathan used to the sound of the blender. The last 2 days, he's gotten scared when I run it.

If any of you use Magic Bullet...sing its praises for me so I can decide if it's worth asking for as a birthday gift. (come September.)

Way to go Charlene! And with the new program, you shouldn't have as many cravings. I think that is one reason they revamped it.

WTG Charlene. That is a great loss for the week. I weighed in today & was down 1.6. I had a lot of challenges last week so I was very happy with it.

I have the Cooks version of the Magic Bullet from Penney's. I got it on sale for under $25 and I love it. It does great with the WW smoothies. I add ice and
sometimes the PB2 powder and it comes out really thick.

I really recommend the meetings. Whenever I feel like giving up, I go to the meeting and come out really inspired. We have a great leader and a group of people who really like to share

Way to go, Laurie! :party-smiley-048:
I've got these "big" losses to start with, but I know that will taper off. Well, not off, right?! lol Taper down? 1.6 is great!
I'll be checking out the JCPenney site soon to see the Cooks version. I guess I wonder what is the advantage over a blender? Easier to clean? Better somehow?

I used to go to meetings...back in 2005, I believe. I'd love to do it again, but I don't want to disturb the others with Nathan bouncing in my lap. lol It looks like some people have their toddlers in there with them. But you can tell a toddler to be quiet and play with whatever. At 7 months old, Nathan just wants to bounce and babble. :giggle_bear:

WTG Charlene, Melanie and Laurie! Hang in there Dot, I've started over many times! I weigh every day (can't stop myself) and I'm down already for the week, but the weekends are when I use my weekly points so Monday is my official weigh day and I won't count my chickens...

BTW I do NOT like PB so I don't have to worry about its high points :giggle_bear:

:jawdrop:
What?! You don't like peanut butter?!
lol
j/k
My DH thinks my boys and I are crazy when I make them waffles and we put on the top of the waffles (before WW...I'd have to check the points now lol) peanut butter and syrup that was heated together in the microwave then stirred together. Yum!
Hey, I grew up seeing my Dad eat peanut butter and banana sandwiches. lol

I have a Magic Bullet and use it several times a week. I mostly use it to make the kids breakfast smoothies-yogurt, banana, milk, peanut butter and a packet of cocoa mix, so good! It makes me feel less guilty on the days they just want cereal, at least I know they have a fruit and some protein. I like it better than a blender bc if everyone wants a different flavor smoothie-say, mixed berry instead, they can have it. I also make frappucinos in it for myself, way cheaper than Starbucks and taste just about the same.

I noticed the one at Costco has travel mugs and a small pitcher included that looked really handy. I think there is a thread on the WW site that talks about how people use theirs.

Magic Bullets have a smaller footprint and are lighter than a blender. You mix individual servings in the cups, or use the pitcher for a larger amount. It's nice to be able to mix custom smoothies for each person. I love it, and don't miss my blender at all. The blade assembly is all in one, and goes right in the dishwasher.

Hi, Dianna. :waving-hi:

This is off of the WW site:

Key Features in the PointsPlus Program
While the PointsPlus program continues to build on the heritage of Weight Watchers, it is all new. Taking this fresh approach has lead to three distinct and new features: 1) an entirely new method of calculating the values by which the counting system works (i.e., PointsPlus values), 2) the identification of Power Foods, and 3) assigning fruits and most vegetables a PointsPlus of 0.

The PointsPlus Formula
The PointsPlus formula uses the grams of total fat, carbohydrate, dietary fiber and protein to calculate the assigned PointsPlus value. While creating a caloric deficit is at the core of weight loss, the new formula accounts for the fact that the body uses calories differently, depending on a food’s nutrient composition.

Weight Watchers Power Foods
The Power Foods provide a way to easily and quickly pick the food choices that are most nutritious as well as most satisfying when working to lose weight.

0 PointsPlus Fruits and Vegetables
In the PointsPlus program, all fruits and most vegetables have a PointsPlus value of 0. This feature promotes the intake of these foods as research shows that most individuals fall significantly short on including the recommended intake into their diet.

I figured they could say it better than I could. lol

Well, I weighed in and I am down 2lbs this week. I also reached my 5% goal of 12 lbs. I am real happy about that. 10% Key chain here I come!:exercisebike:
I am most excited, though, because I put on a pair of pants I haven't worn since my 4yr old DD was born.

I have found that eating only from the "Power Foods" list in measured portions is working best for me. I am not a great point counter, so I was glad they offer this option.

Great to hear about your losses, Charlene and Laurie.
I really appreciate the encouragement I get from all of you.

I saved all my weekly points so far this week and last night was pizza night. My DS, DIL, and DGS joined us and one of the pizza's was a stuffed pizza and it was loaded with meat. I had a 1/2 slice of that one and ate only 2 pieces of the thin crust Hawaiian with tomatoes and green peppers added. I ended up using only 8 weekly points. I ate a (very small) muffin at work that someone brought in and calculated the points when I got home. It was 3 points and let me tell you it was NOT worth 3 points! I won't do that again. I find that I won't eat anything bad for me unless it is enjoyable enough to be worth the points it will cost me. That's probably the best thing about doing WW again - smarter choices!

I totally agree, Brenda, if it's not worth the points, don't eat it!! I also find that since I am buying fewer snacks and stuff that I am willing to pay a bit more to get exactly what I want to eat.

I spent more at the grocery store recently...but I bought all sorts of yummy fruit. It's nice seeing my boys eat more fruit, too.
