Have used Publisher for years but having difficulty getting it to now print correctly on my new printer-Epson Stylus Photo R1900. I make photo balloons. There is a 13x15.75 inch frame, made out of thick card stock. Centered in that frame, is a "balloon", 11x11 inches round,2.5 inches from top-2.5 inches from bottom, that is perforated so it easily pops out of the cardboard frame. The concept is to create a design, print the design on the balloon, tear it of of the frame and blow it up. I have done this forever with smaller balloons on smaller printer, but cannot get it aligned correctly on larger printer. I have tried using A3 as page size, per balloon mfg suggestions but it does not work. I've increased and decreased paper size as well as moving it all over the page. Also one variation has the balloon printing one section, but wanting to print out the other section on another page. Have talked with both Epson and balloon mfg-no help. I have just started a website to sell these and have to get the large size figured out. Has anyone run into a problem like this aligning large size paper with the Epson R1900?

I use the R1800 - the model before yours and have never had alignment problems. The only thing I can think of is to make sure you have the paper selected and in the page set up before you go to the print menu. I have found that it is a bit particular about what will feed through it, but that doesn't sound like the problem you're having. I'm usually printing from Photoshop though, so maybe Publisher is having a little conflict with the printer. Hope you get it figured out soon! Your business sounds like a fun one too.

My Gallery I scrap with Photoshop CS6, but can help with older versions: PS7, CS2 & CS4. Posted Image

I also use the R1800 and haven't had alignment issues. It's been years since I've used Publisher. Some things that come to mind...

  • Can you set your page to 12x12 in Publisher? Even if you only want 11x11, 12x12 would be more common paper size.
  • When selecting the paper for the printer, can you match it to 12x12?
  • Are you using the most up-to-date print driver from Epson?
