Happy Friday! It seems pretty quiet here this week. I weighed in this morning and was up .5 lbs. Not terrible, but of course I would rather see the scale going the other way!

It was a strange week, first I wasn't eating enough points, then I ate over points everyday. I suppose consistency is the key. I restocked all my fruits and veggies today and hope that next week's weigh in will be better. I also did no excercise this week, at least last week I walked a couple of days.

Some foods that I have fallen in love with since I started are: low fat string cheese, Special K Chocolate Pretzel bars, BBQ Popchips and sandwich thins.

One of the new recipes that the whole family loves is the Shrimp Scampi in the new WW Complete cookbook-and it's easy, too! I also tried the mushroom cheese omelet on the WW website and it is delicious.

How about everyone else? Any new food finds or recipes that you have tried? How was your weigh in this week?

We're all out wrangling geese, helicoptering and falling down stairs. And not doing push ups!

And wrangling 3 ornery (but very very cute) boys ;) It's spring break here! (That means the kids don't go to school, and Mama has extra work, ya know) LOL

I just did my Chalean Extreme ab workout today. It's only 10 minutes. I'm not sure if I'll do the burn intervals I'm supposed to today or keep those for tomorrow.

Well, Melanie, if it's any consolation, I have gained almost 5 lbs since I cracked my ribs in December - that's what doctor's orders did for me - sitting in a recliner is sooooo not good for the fat - maybe good for the ribs, but........... :hit-head-with-hammer: :hit-head-with-hammer:

I did okay this week, I was up 2 and now am one less than when I started, so I guess I am down one. It was "my week" and I always retain extra water and eat more than I should. Old habits are hard to change.

Hang in there, Melanie. You're making a big change and you can expect some old behavior to sneak back in. When I have a gain, I go a little higher on protein points and a little lower on carb points for a while until I lose what I gained. You can do it!

I'm just plugging away, losing about a pound a week, which is ok with me. I did try one new recipe off the WW site. It's called Spice Rubbed Pork Chops, very different from the way I usually cook pork chops. I grilled them on the Foreman grill. DH said it was a keeper.

Well, this has not been a great week for me. I had a conference to attend for work and not being home with all my "safe" food was too much of a challenge. I'm back home now and got on the scale this morning (my official weigh day is Monday) and it looks like I haven't gained anything back yet. That's actually a good thing. the rest of the weekend will continue to be a challenge because we are celebrating my BFF's birthday this evening and my DILs birthday tomorrow. I'm praying for strength!

Just had a 0 point jello - those things really satisfy my sweet tooth - and they are 0 points!! With some 0 point whipped topping? Even better.

:sofa:
HERE I AM!!!
:waving-hi: :waving-hi: :waving-hi:

Hey. lol I've had a crazy week. Since about Thursday or Friday of the previous week.
I had some things stressing me out for a few days and I snacked, snacked, snacked! So I thought about skipping the weigh-in on Wednesday. Then Nathan got some sort of cold that had/has him stuffy-nosed and not sleeping well. I wound up not going Wednesday 'cause I had fallen asleep with him in my bed for a nap and didn't feel like waking him up to get there. Friday morning (or was that this morning?) my scale seemed to be "doing well." lol So, hopefully this Wednesday coming up I'll get to the official weigh-in and be okay.

I had so many things keeping me off the messageboard. Ugh. I got PSCS5! Whenever I had a chance, I was trying to figure things out with it. I was more so trying to clean up some things around the house 'cause my parents were coming to town. They left today. I had 3 different events to go to today. With Nathan. He did well, though. Luckily there was enough time between each one for him to catch a nap. Not me, though. lol I'm going to hit the sack SOON.

This week I have the termite inspector (yearly inspection) and a bug man (lol quarterly treatment) both coming on Thursday. So...in whatever "spare" time I can find, I'll be trying to get a couple of embarrassing things straightened up. It will be nice to finally have it done though: the pile of clothes that has grown on my side of the closet floor and the pile of clothes in Ethan and Hunter's room. Sounds like it would be a quick thing, but it isn't. I haven't been on top of things since Nathan was born.

Anyway...I must stay focused on tracking my food this week. I didn't track it this past week. :( I was using my Dining Out book if we grabbed something while out.

Okay, enough rambling.
Marching onward...

Wow Char, you have been busy! At least you used your dining out book- good for you!

PSCS5, how exciting, can't wait to see what you make with it!

I haven't been on top of things since Caitlyn was born...and that was 6 years ago!

Char, sounds like you had challenges last week too. I know these are the times when I would just give up in the past. I am not giving up however, and I'm getting back on track. Last night we had friends over for dinner and we grilled chicken and pork chops and served that with grilled veggies, fruit salad and mashed sweet potatoes. We skipped dessert too so it turned out to be a good WW day! This afternoon we will be celebrating our DIL's birthday and again we will be grilling (steak this time, her fav) served with grilled veggies, fruit salad and rice with craisins. I think we have to have dessert (birthday cake) however so we'll just have to watch our serving size. I'm still hopeful for a kind scale tomorrow morning (my official weigh in).

Having this thread is really helping me so thanks to everyone who is posting here! The support is so much appreciated!

I walked over to the coffee counter at Church this morning after the service to get a cup of coffee and encountered a table full of donuts. I must have made an awful face because everyone started laughing at me. I didn't eat a donut!!!

OMGosh I am down 3 lbs! I do believe in miracles! So now to get back on track with counting and tracking too. I really did behave once I got home on Friday and managed to get through 2 birthday celebrations on the weekend. My DH was down 2.5 lbs too. The week before he/we did not use our weekly points (or at least not many). Does anyone know if it's better to use them or save them?

Awesome, BRENDA! :party-smiley-048:

I think the weekly "extra" points depend on the person. Some people vary it week to week to keep their body guessing and keep from being "bored."

"They" tell you it's better to use all the daily points, but I really don't know about the weekly ones. I don't usually use them, or at least only a few.

I am really getting into this now, learning the new system. I applaud everyone who is doing this, and it sounds like all of you are really doing great. I'm losing about a pound a week, but that's ok with me. I don't get as much exercise as I should, but I'm starting to try to do something about that. Mostly walking. Oh, I tried on a shirt this morning that I bought last year and never wore because every time I put it on it was too tight. I can wear it now.

Read this today and thought of everyone. I don't know who wrote it, but it came in a (not actual) WW message.

Don’t think of “losing” weight. Think of “removing” it. You “lose” something carelessly. You “remove” something deliberately, with great care, because it is no longer desirable and you wish to be free of it permanently. Choose your words with care – they affect your attitude and belief systems.

Here's one more:
SAYING: If you don’t want to slip, don’t go where it is slippery!

Here's a saying for you football fans, and everyone else, too :2468who-do-we-appreciate:

You don’t have to throw a long pass down the whole length of the field to score a touchdown. You get there one yard at a time!
