Well, I've just started again at strengthening and toning and controlling eating. My lifestyle has become much more sedentary than it has ever been. I decided to do something about it. So I got the Slim in 6 program from Beachbody and started on Monday. I really like it. The starter level is just right for me right now and pushes me a bit. I'm excited to be doing something! Yesterday I had a really busy day and didn't get my workout in in the morning. So once the girls got home and finished their homework, we turned on the DVD and did about 2/3 of the workout together. Had to stop to get dinner ready and girls moving toward evening. I'm really happy that I was able to do what I could yesterday even though it wasn't "perfect" (a big stumbling block for me). I feel really good about it. I'm gonna stop in here weekly (I hope) to just have a little accountability.

Anyone else starting again or for the first time with a program? Anyone doing or has done Slim in 6? I'd love to hear from you all!

:exercisebike: <--- this is what I've been doing. I try to do something each night, whether that be taking a walk, riding my stationary bike, or doing one of my many exercise DVDs. I find it difficult to get much time in, so most of my workouts are 20-30 minutes at the most.

Good for you for starting Slim in 6!! Good luck! :)

I bought a bike yesterday and rode it to work this morning and home again for lunch.

I need some motivation to start my ChaLean Extreme again. I always get sidetracked by life and let it slip.

I thought I'd work myself up to ChaLEAN Extreme. I don't think I could keep with it right now. I'm going for a gentler re-entry with Slim in 6. ;) ChaLEAN may be next on my list...after this first 6 weeks. Let me know how it goes for you.

LOL, Debbie!

I looked at CE as an entry-level program. And trust me, I am NOT in good shape. I'm overweight by about 60 pounds, and other than walking/jogging and some Kettlebells now and then since January, I haven't had a regular program like CE before. Ever in my life.

Slim in 6 is much more cardio, I think. That's why I stayed away from it. I'm not so coordinated. ChaLEAN takes everything nice and slow for 3 out of the 5 days, and the cardio days aren't so bad at all.

I'm really enjoying it and actually look forward to it each day. Chalene Johnson isn't as annoying as some of the other DVD workouts I've done in the past, and I really like that about CE.

The videos I rotate among are: 10-Minute Trainer (Beachbody program), Biggest Loser Power Sculpt, and a couple Jillian Michaels DVDs. I like variety, and they all work my muscles in slightly different ways.

I'm doing Chalean Extreme now too, and though I take more "off" days than the program calls for, I've been very pleased with it. I do probably need more cardio in my life though, and when I finish CE through the first time, I'll probably add a cardio workout to the routine and rotate around a bit.

I am currently in the Push month and now realize I actually need a heavier set of weights to really get the most out of it. I'm hoping to get those within a month or two. Come on Craigslist!! ;)

I just recently started getting back into it after a pretty sedentary winter. I'm doing mostly P90X (love the beachbody programs!) and mixing it up with a little Brazil Butt Lift (lol) and Sean T's hip hop abs. I thought I was going to die the first few days! Did about 10 minutes of one of the faster-paced cardio DVD and had to stop it to rest! Within about a week I was burning through them, I even surprised myself. It's funny how after doing them for a little bit you sort of crave the exercise because it makes you feel so good.

Summer is coming *cue JAWS theme* and that means not hiding under mountains of clothes!

Just checkin' in to say that I've done a week of Slim in 6 (6 days of work out. Took Sunday off). I've been doing well with cutting down on the carb intake and drinking water (my newest friend is my quart canning jar that I fill with ice and water at least twice a day!). Haven't touched the scale yet, but my body feels better from the exercise. I can feel the difference which is motivation to keep going. WOO HOO! Keep up the good work everyone. It's a new week to get it going again!

This morning starts my third week of the Burn Phase (first phase) of ChaLEAN Extreme. Lots more days to go, but I'm loving it!

Cheri, I'm with you... I need some heavier weights, too. I haven't been able to find anything on Freecycle or Craigslist yet, though. I might try hitting some Goodwill stores soon. Sure can't afford those SelectTech weights at $300! Geesh!

Sheri, I'm impressed at anyone who can do more than one BeachBody program at a time. I purposely went with ChaLEAN because most days, it's 45 minutes or less.

I guess I'm in the minority here... I hate cardio. Not because I don't like to sweat or get moving, but because the moves tend to be so complicated for my uncoordinated self and I never get the full "effects" of what they should be targeting. I'm working on that, though. Taking ballet once a week is oh-so-slowly improving my coordination and balance.

Becca, I'm so impressed with your ballet class. I'd love to do that (we don't have that here). I'm with you on keeping my work out time to 45 min or less. I'm feeling tired today, so I need all the encouragement I get from this thread to get up and do it today. I know I'll feel better after I do it. Here I go!!!

Debbie, don't forget that a cubic inch of muscle weighs more than a cubic inch of fat, so as your body composition changes, you may see results in the mirror and how your clothes fit faster than you see a change on the scale. You are being good to yourself!

Wow, it's so great to see this thread. Thank you Debbie for starting it. I'm currently doing a hybrid of Chalean Extreme and TurboFire. I really love Chalene's motivational style and the cardio of TurboFire is so much fun.

Cheri, I also take more days off than the schedule. I find it difficult to workout on 12 hour work days. But, I'm still losing weight and inches. So, it's working.

WTG everyone. Yay for us.

Hugs,

Hey Steph, so good to see you over here! :)

You know what I noticed this morning... I can see my toes again!!! I don't think I've seen my toes (without leaning over) since I was first pregnant with Chaislynn, and she's 5 now! I'm just 9 pounds shy of being at the weight I was when I had my first OB appointment with her, too! My first mini-goal is to hit that weight by my birthday on May 1st. I think I might just make it! Thanks to ChaLEAN, of course!
