At least I think they are pretty neat...I'm sure everyone else knows about them. It doesn't take much to make me happy

I just saw a video on YouTube...

To enlarge the size of the Font names in the drop down menu on PSE Click on Edit....Preferences....Type....and then The arrow by Font and in the drop down menu chose the Font Preview Size and I picked Huge as I'm old and OK This is sooooooo Cool. I always have a time seeing exactly what they look like in the drop down menu'


Thought this was great too---- When you have your Text typed...activate the text box, highlight the text, go to the font on the top right and highlight the font that is chosen in the bar and then you can use your up or down arrow to scroll through the fonts to see what each looks like in the text you have typed. I've always hated having to pick each different font one at a time.

Any other slick tricks we need to know???

I don't know...I'm pretty much clueless about everything things just have to fall into my lap for me to learn it

I have PSE9 and I made my menu larger - awesome - great to know this! But I also tried scrolling through the fonts and that does not work for me. I'm not sure what you mean by going to the font on the top right. I still have to highlight the text and choose one font at a time. Any ideas?

Yes, for this trick do not highlight your text. Click on the text layer in the layers palette (lower right of your screen), click on the text tool (the letter T icon) on the left of your screen. Go up to the fonts on the options bar up top, and click on the downward arrow just to the right of the actual font name. Choose the next font down or up (doesn't matter which one), then use the down or up arrows on your keyboard to scroll through the different fonts. Your text should change each time you press the arrow, to the next font in the alphabetical listing.

It's a cool trick and well worth figuring out! Let us know if you get it working now:)

Here's another way to preview font samples in PSE9: Type a line of text and either click once on a blank area near the text or click the green check mark. Then click once on the little box in the upper left corner where the name of the font is, then use the keyboard up/down arrows to scroll through different fonts. I like this because the text is not highlighted and may be a little easier to read. This may also work in other versions of PSE.

Those are very cool short cuts...I spend SO much time trying to find just the right font. Maybe that's because I have too many of them!

In PSE 7.0 you can Kern( adjust the spacing between the letters) your text by selecting edit>preferences>type>check Show Asian Text Options. Then you will say ok and then you will see an asian symbole in the text tool menu when you select it you can play with Kerning!

That is my fun tip!

Yep, there sure is Amy. In PSE 9 I start from the normal setting and click on Dissolve, then I just use my up and down arrow keys to scroll through the different blends. Easy Peasy! HTH

I just tried this in PSE9 and it works beautifully. WOW! Got to remember this.
