hi all, i've been trying to get some answers off the internet but not getting much help. all of a sudden my pictures are all very dark. they don't look like that on my monitor. i've tried messing wiht the settings a bit but nothing is resolving the problem. some of the ink is low but not real low so i don't want to replace it until it tells me too. would that be it? the quality is good on my photos it's just that they are horribly dark. i hope i can fix this soon. thanks for any help, Rebecca

Has anything else changed? The paper? Have you tried running the test print? This is usually a colorful page of text or little symbols that at least our two printers (one Epson, one HP) have. If that is bright like normal, then the problem cannot be the low ink. If that is dark too, perhaps it just didn't tell you about hte low ink yet.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

try running an alignment on your printer cartridges.

okay, i'll try print alignment and a regular test print. i've been fooling around a lot and it seems that for the same picture that i printed: elements prints it out darker than when i right click on the picture file itself by going through windows files and not opening elements. so, it seems i can print the photos without going through elements for a better picture print. but i'd hate to do that. and no, i'm using the same paper (ultra premium glossy) and the best photo setting. thanks for the help. still confused. rebecca
