I got in my 2 miles today on the treadmill and the bowflex. Hopefully it will warm up later this week and I can get back outside without freezine

I did nothing yesterday. I felt horrible... fever and weakness and all that fun stuff. Got what needed to be done for work and crawled in bed. I'm feeling much better this morning, so I'll be back in the game with ChaLEAN this morning.
I don't even want to talk about walking in the cold. Seriously, there is snow in the forecast this week. 'Nuff said.

I missed 4 days last week!! Just stuff going on, on the go, etc and I didn't make walking a priority. And boy did I feel it. By the 2nd day I could feel my energy level draining.By Sunday I didn't want to move at all. I'm happy to be getting back into it again this week. I put in 3mi last night and already feel better.
Its cold here too - like winter has returned. Thankfully we haven't been getting snow (other than a few flurries).

Glad you are feeling better Becca.
We are moving at the end of the week! Good news our landlord (friends from church) had new carpet put in for us yesterday. It looks great! Also, our landlord had inspection on the house we are moving too, and there are some things that have to get done before we can move in. My hubby got most of it done last night. The big thing is that the front porch needs a railing installed. So hubby is going to tackle that tonight after work. It's going to be a long week. I'd appreciate your prayers if you think of us. Thanks.

Glad your feeling better Becca!
I plan on getting a little treadmill in today, I have a ton to get done so it will be short. But I guess i'm glad it's cold/snowy here today so I have an excuse to skip outside today and not feel guilty about it.

I'm looking forward to getting home this evening and spending an hour on the treadmill tho - mindless walking and listening to some favourite music, hoping to clear my mind for just that time.
Good luck with your moving Sarah. I never liked packing up, but always got excited about unpacking in the new place and having fun arranging everything!

I didn't get to walk yesterday either. It started to rain on the way into town last night. Today we have snow on the ground, but it's a ChaLEAN morning and ballet night for me, so I'll get something in today for sure.

I haven't been weighing - I have a goal weight I'd like to be at but I'm not doing weekly weigh-ins. I'd like to make the walking/eating right a normal habit first.
I got 2mi in today on the treadmill. I'd love to up that to 5mi but right now my biggest obstacle is time!
Our April 1st snow storm is well under way here now

I am having the hardest time getting back on my diet/exercise plan and sticking to it. I am feeling depressed about it but it's like my will power is gone, gone and gone. I am hoping the sunny weather will turn things around

As for diet, i'm not restricting myself from anything but sugar. I've cut out all candy/sweets. I think since Jan i've had desert 2. Other then that I just cut back. So if we have pizza for dinner I have 1 piece instead of 4. To me it feels much less like being on a diet other then just changing my lifestyle a bit.

As for the exercise, I do it as soon as I get up in the morning. Get the kids off to school, put my workout clothes on and it's time to sweat. I don't veer off that schedule, unless it's a scheduled rest day in my program. It helps to keep me accountable to making sure I move every day. This thread does, too. (Though I haven't been walking as much as I should... the cold and wet weather is more to blame for that.)
It's taken a lot of willpower to get here, but this thread keeps me going... knowing that I can share my successes with everyone and if I'm tempted to skip a day, I'll come here for a pep talk.

It's been interesting reading about all your life changes and schedules - and how you fit in the exercise time every day. That's one of my struggles. I'm up at 6, out the door by 7:30, home again by 5pm or so. Then its supper time, spend some time with dd (and dh when he's home), then get dd ready and in bed. Some nights it's 9pm before I get a moment to myself. It can be hard to motivate yourself to exercise that late at night. Some days I can get in half hour while dd is doing something but not every day. Guess I have to work on my daily schedule a little.

Me too, Syndee. I have NO will power. I lost 5 pounds in the first half of March, and gained 3 of them back in the 2nd half of March.
Went out for a walk tonight...only 1.3 miles...but it was better than nothing, I guess!

I think one of the advantages that Angie and I have is that we work from home. Our work schedule is a little flexible that way and we don't have to worry about traffic or a commute or showing up on time.
That's not to say that it was easy for me to make the change to commit a time every day to workout. Setting aside that time each day threw my whole schedule into chaos for quite some time, and for awhile, I resented that. It's taken almost four months for me to finally get back into the grove and be able to enjoy a weekend off from work. This weekend we're in right now is the very first since January that I've actually been able to not work on both Saturday and Sunday, which used to be "normal" for me.
Somewhere I read that if you don't have a full 30-minutes stretch to commit to exercise each day, try three 10 minute sessions a day. Maybe that'll help?

Warmer weather can't get here soon enough for me, and I'm sure it's just around the corner - things are looking GREEN again. And I have a feeling that by that time, we'll all be looking for excuses to get outside and walk!

I have found myself working more and more in the evening for long periods of time which I try not to do. For me i've always felt like i'm "at work" 24hrs a day...which I didn't mind. So it was no big deal to be doing something else and glance at my computer as I walk by and see if there's an email that needs answered. I'd sit down and 5min later be done and back out doing stuff with the boys (it's something great to do during commercial breaks at night...lol)
But with taking 2 hours out of my normal day to exercise, which is the amount of time it takes for my 5mile walk then bowflex, you have to make up time elsewhere. So i've had to start making alot of it up after the boys are home from school. Of course I've felt guilty about that, but then I realized what i'm actually doing is giving myself me time each day something I haven't done for almost 9 years. Which is making me a better person for my family.
So what i've started doing is getting up earlier each day, so I get more work done before they are every up in the morning. And when they get home they have to do homework then they walk a mile/run a mile on the treadmill. By the time they are done with all of that, i'm usually caught up and done for the day also.
I'm with Becca..it took me a long time to find that schedule and something that will work for me and my family. But I think i'm finally almost there.

The frustrating thing for me is that I was sticking to my eating plan and exercising 5x a week for 7 months straight. I lost about 50 lbs total, BUT then my parents came for a visit and since then I just can't seem to stay on track. I will do great for a week and then I get a migraine or something and it just messes me up! I did manage to do pilates last night and took a walk with a couple of my kids today. I plan on working out tonight to. I just need to get motivated again, maybe if I plaster a bunch of pictures of cute clothes I would like to fit into this summer all over the house that will help! lol
