I'm just now getting back into my workout routine. Once I get going, I don't really have a problem keeping it up (until I hit a lovely "well, I've done good, so I can slack off now" phase). My biggest problem is getting BACK into the routine. Here are some tips I have from this go around that may help those trying to lose weight or get back into the swing of things:
~Workout right after work! - If you aren't a morning person, or your schedule is packed to the gills, make yourself get into those workout clothes and head to the gym/park right after work! You may be tired, you may still have a lot to do, but just think of the feeling of accomplishment you'll have after working out. You are that awesome! If you go right after work, then you are less likely to head home and hang out on the couch thinking, "Well, I can just get started tomorrow."
~Teas - I know I have a tendency to munch when I'm bored. If you have a problem with eating a little more than you probably should, tea is a possible solution, especially when made with seaweed. Seaweed is a natural dieuretic and can help alleviate fluid retention.
~Reward yourself - Tell yourself you aren't allowed to watch that show you love so much on TV until you have completed a workout, or reward yourself with doing something fun after a good workout.
~Pencil it in - It might sound simple, but sometimes it just makes things easier if you can set a schedule. I find simply having "workout" written in my schedule makes me feel like I can allow the time it takes in my busy day to go to the gym or park.
~Find a workout buddy - Again, this also may seem like a no-brainer, but having someone keep you accountable really helps! My best friend and I are currently trying the buddy system, and it's helped push me out the door on days when I thought I might just curl up with a cat and munch on some chocolates.
Hope this inspirational if not somewhat helpful for those of you attempting a spring workout routine =)

Thanks for the good tips, but I'm afraid, 'work out' is an ugly word in the house and does not get mentioned often.

Thanks for the reminder! I know that I personally have to "pencil" it in on my calendar or it doesn't happen. We try and get workouts out of the way in the mornings but aren't always successful when work or appts. get in the way.
Great tips though!
