Can someone please explain to me what a vector file is and how I can make one in pse. I want to send stickers to print for a fundraiser at my school and the company is asking for a vector file. Can someone help?

Hopefully someone will come along who can answer this. I don't know much, but I do know that vector files leave clean lines and can be enlarged without losing resolution. I believe they can be made in Adobe Illustrator, but if it can be done in PSE I don't know how. I'll keep watching and learn with you!

Hi Fran,
Vector images use mathematical equations to create shapes using lines and points. Vectors are created in programs like Adobe Illustrator. Photoshop and PSE are pixel based programs so you would not be able to create a vector image in PSE. You might contact the company and tell them that you can't create a vector image and see if they have any other options.

I think that the shapes tool in PSE and PS uses vectors. But I am not certain if you can save PSE/PS files as vector images. I suspect not. I know that Illustrator draws and saves vectors....

Fran-- I don't know how to make vector files in PSE, but there is a free, illustrator like program called Inkscape that you can download and make vector files in!
