It is SNOWING out! We are to get between 2 to 4 inches today .... Ok Michigan, who forgot to tell you it is SPRING time?? I DID get to my 5:30 water aerobics class. Today she mixed it up our hour with aerobics and paddle resistance intervals - such a great workout! With the snow today, I'm thinking the 30 minute walk at lunch time is going to be a Leslie Sansone dvd with the stretch bands. Happy Monday everyone - lets get moving!! :D

Good morning everyone. No snow here. It's a beautiful Spring day. I'll do my best to get a walk in today.

I took a 2-mile walk yesterday, but still not at full speed. After being sick all last week, I still have some congestion in my sinuses and chest, so breathing while exercising is a little thick. I'll be so glad when this all clears up and I can get back to my normal routine!!

Have an active week, everyone!

Oh I know..when I had the flu in Jan it took almost a week to get back up to speed, it can really knock it out of you

I got my 4 miles in today. Will skip the bowflex, i'm pretty sore from the weekend so I need a day off.

Not sure whether I have a cold or if it is my allergies, but whichever it is, my lungs aren't happy, so I'm having to take it a bit easy. I'll still go to the gym tonight, but I don't think I'll be running.

A 1 mile walk around the track today. I miss those 4 mile walks. Maybe after the kids go back to school next week.

Doing the happy dance today...50lbs down :scale:

My first big goal hit. Maybe I should celebrate with Arby's for lunch...just kidding, but i've been craving it lately. LOL I would like to celebrate it with a long walk today. But it's rainy and cold, so i'll have to hit the Bowflex later and maybe the treadmill.

Oh wow, Angie - what a wonderful accomplishment! Instead of Arby's how about a pedicure or a new outfit??

Went for a walk on my lunch break - 2.2 miles through a hilly neighborhood. And ewwwww the rain made it very humid outside. Not fun! I wasn't anticipating sweating as much as I did, so my poor coworkers have to put up with me the rest of the afternoon LOL I think I need to start bringing a change of clothes with me to work.

I skipped the Arby's and stuck with what I had at home. Not as much fun..but hey it's worth it in the end.

I decided to work out with Bob and his Biggest Losers today since it's wet and cold out. When I got the video a few years ago I couldn't make it through the warm up. Today I did the whole thing (with some modification) and man is it ever a work out. Of course the dogs sat there the whole time and was wondering what the heck I was doing...LOL

Great job on the walks/workouts today gals! The way I look at it, it's 1 more thing to mark off my "to do" list.

Ok..you all have to excuse me while I have a pity party for myself here. A few weeks ago I started using Herbalife, not something I had planned. My mom had told me how some people at her work get protein mix at the nutrition store next to her. The funny part of the story is our town is less then 2000 people...how I didn't know she sold Herbalife is past me LOL

Anyways I walked in one day, talked to the owner and started a plan that day. I really like her and she wasn't pushy at all. I explained how I would not do pills. I hate taking things that "smell" like vitamins do, and there is no way I was taking 4 pills 2-3 times a day like alot of these programs want you to do. So we skipped anything like that and i'm doing what they call their shake/tea/aloe program, which I have really liked. And it's helped me lose almost 10lbs (from my home scale) in the past few weeks.

Well last week they started their biggest loser challenge..and for some dumb reason I joined. I was for accountability more then anything. But I did also think that I had just started the program and I should do really good. So last week was our starting weigh in, and after this week I lost 2.2lbs. Now I do have to say what I do not like about weigh ins like this (and I had forgotten from weigh watchers many...many years ago) is that it's after a day full of eating, your obviously dressed more then what you would weigh in at home and I've drank a ton of water each day. So for my official weight loss I go by my home one.

I couldn't wait for that meeting to be over though. I was so disgruntled after that. Especially when there was people loosing 10, 4 and 5lb..and I got a lousy 2.2

I know i've been on this for 4 months and i'm not going to drop the weight like someone who just started last week will. But still I wonder why I put myself through the torture. I'm so close to just dropping out of it..but that also just doesn't feel right.

Ok..pity part is over! As I've had to tell myself many times on this journey "tomorrow is a new day"

Don't be so hard on yourself, Angie! 2.2 pounds is great! I'd be happy with that :) Everyone's body is different. You might be starting to plateau after all the weight you already lost. Or it could have just been a rough week for your body, depending on the time of day (or time of month!). Like you said, tomorrow is a new day.

That being said, I think I'm down 7 pounds since March 1st. So that's about 1 pound a week. I just need to keep losing....have about 15 pounds to get to my goal. I weigh-in every Tuesday evening, so it coorelates to Biggest Loser night on TV. I try to wear the same clothes each week, and weigh myself at the same time. For every 2 pounds I seem to lose, I gain 1 back the following week. So I'm only 7 pounds from where I started. It's frustrating!!

I'm kind of at a low point myself. I haven't been doing very good at walking or eating. I've gained some weight back. I love my sweets, and I've been eating ice cream at night - ugh. Tonight I didn't have any ice cream though. I ate cheese and apple slices with peanut butter. No more ice cream for me for a while. We are going to Rita's Water Ice tomorrow. It's supposed to be in the 80's here. I was going to get a Peeps Gelati, but I think I won't now. I might have to help the kids finish theirs though. :eekout: I need to pray for stronger will power. :)

So tomorrow is a new day. I like that. My goal is to walk for an hour - 3 days a week. and if I can, walk for a half hour to an hour on the other days. 5 days of exercise would be awesome. I'm not looking forward to hot Summer and sweaty walks. But the way I am looking at it is - this is a life style change. Once I lose the weight, I have to keep walking to maintain a healthy weight.

I love this group! I feel like I can keep going.

Well you ladies are definately inspiring. It is 5:35 AM and I missed heading out to the water aerobics class (I leave the house at 5) . I was up 3 times last night - my one little Aussie shepherd is afraid of storms and we had a huge lightening and thunder storm roll in, so I had to get up and unplug things midnight-ish. Then They woke me again at 2-ish and then my bladder woke me at 3:30-ish and then I had to pack dh's lunch and bfst and get him out the door by 5 so I'm exhausted at the moment. I'm with you, Sarah, I love my sweets and with a dh that likes to rummage through the cupboards for "dessert" just about every night it is hard to keep the cupboards purged. I have been on this diet merry-go-round enough times and I seem to run a pattern - I will either be gun-ho on the exercise part and be very disiciplined on it and not get the eating piece right, or I will get the eating piece in order and not include the exercise component - for some reason I run into a brick wall trying to combine the two components for a win/win situation. SIGH - I'm my own worst enemy!! Yesterday after doing my walks, I came home from work so hungry and started eating and couldn't stop. DOUBLE SIGH This morning I'm not only tired from waking so much, my stomach is sore from eating. The only good news about this morning is that my muscles are sore too so I must have done something right with my workouts the past two days! I take that back - the other good thing about this morning is that this is yesterday's tomorrow and as Angie says, "its a new day". So after I get a bit more sleep, I'm going to take the little Aussie girls for a nice walk and also plan on a little 30 minute walk at lunch break, and I'm eating light today. Thank you ladies for letting me bend your ear this morning.

I've been really, really BAD this week! I did my Biggest Loser workout on Tue but the last time I walked was Mon. Wed we had ballgames and I had a ton to do to get ready, then Thur Easter parties at school. Today is rainy and yucky out...but I will go down and walk on the treadmill and do the bowflex. Gotta get back in the swing of things. These last few days of not eating much, not drinking my water and not doing anything..i've gained back 2.5 lbs. I know it's sounds odd, but i've found if I skip meals and not drink my water..that I actually start putting weight back on. UGH!
