mimes1
Welcome again! In the beginning, especially as you start collecting digi - stash things, it can get a little confusing! An alpha set is a usually a a full alphabet of decorative letters. These usually come in png form which means they have a clear background. Word Art is usually a phrase, can be decorative or plain. These usually also are png. The advantage to png is that you can bring them onto your layout and they don't have white square boxes around the them. A template is usually black or shades of grey, and can be a layout template, a word art template, an embellishment template, or more. With these you can make them their own color by using a variety of techniques. Jpgs vs png are file formats. As mentioned above the png format allows a clear background. You know you have a png file when you see the little transluscent squares behind your item. If it's a jpeg, the background is usually white. When you bring a jpeg item onto your layout, the white box will show around your item. With a png you won't see that. Is that as clear as mud? I hope it helps a little bit. mimes1
I should add the collection biggies have an alpha set with in them. Some of the smaller collections sometimes have them also I think. You can also purchase some alpha sets on their own also.
