But new month also means a weigh in for me...of course I do it daily, but I figure it I post it monthly it will help me stay accountable (like posting the walking) So since Jan 1 I am now down 55lbs. I have now been able/had to give away all my old pants because they no longer fit and got to go shopping for a few new pairs. I try to keep the new outfits to a minimum...because with any luck I won't be in them long.
So what have you all been up to recently. Share your success, struggles, etc!!

I know from experience that if I can be consistent it will become just part of my day and something that I actually look forward to. My goal this week is to walk 1.3 miles Mon. thru Sat. I would guess you are all saying to yourself "Why 1.3 miles/day?" That would be because I need to do baby steps. In the past I have gone full throttle and made it so I could barely walk for days--that was the end of my motivation for a long period of time. Lesson learned.

Wow Angie, way to go!
I am having a moment of awe and admiration! That is a lot of pounds to lose in such a short period of time. I am having a struggle of weight gain that doesn't make much sense. I go to the Dr. next week and hope to figure things out. I suspect it is a case of "hormones gone wild". I'd love to know how you started becoming healthier, and what is your routine now?

Lisanne- Make sure you have your thyroid checked- that was how I gained all the weight I recently lost. It took two years before I felt normal again.
I've walked about three miles a day with my daughter the last few days. I really want to finish the book I'm reading, so I'll be heading to the gym this eveing for some uninterrupted reading time.

Way to go...the way I always look at it is something is better then nothing. So on days that I don't feel like working out i'll go walk a mile on the treadmill, then days I do feel like it I will do 5 outside.
Eating was hard for me also, and was always my downfall. But something just clicked this year and it all came together. But I had many, many fails until I seemed to get it right.

Oh my gosh...I so know the feeling! The first month with no sugar or fast food was really, really hard (I know because I think my family went in hiding they were so scared of the "no sugar" Angie...lol) But now I have no desire for it, and if I take a more then a bite of something sweet I just feel "icky" What I find myself craving more then anything now is protein.
And like you..I haven't felt this good in years. I wish I did it earlier, or followed through on it earlier. But like you said, better late then never.

I did the same thing...and I started WAY baby steps, only .5 mile a day then I worked my way up. Sounds like you have a plan..can't wait to hear how it goes!

How I started...I was tired of being tired!! Working at home I got WAY lazy. Not getting out of pj's until I had to go get the boys, snacking all day, etc. And when I could barely walk to their school (only a couple blocks away) without being winded and legs hurting I decided enough was enough.
I started just cutting back and drinking my water. For 3 months I had a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, a salad for lunch and then whatever we made for dinner, just a small amount. No sugars for 2 months (then after that a reward from time to time) and no fastfood (that was hard) Then I started just walking .5 a day...that was it. I remember the first time I did a mile I was so proud of myself. I slowly worked my way up to 5 miles outside a day.
Really, after the first 30 days it all became habit. My BIG thing I did, was change my morning routine. The first thing I now do is get up, get dressed and put on my shoes. That way when I have time to walk, I'm ready.

Thanks for sharing that Angie. I love hearing how others find their routine.
I walked/jogged 3 miles today. I jogged only because my errands took too long and I didn't have a hour to give to walking 3 miles before I had to go get Markus from kindergarten at noon. It was a WARM day here, and I just about died. I didn't drink enough water when I first got up in the morning. I could feel that. Lesson learned. Make sure you're hydrated!

I kinda took last week off. Not sure exactly why, but the exercise just didn't happen. I did "Burn it Off" yesterday with my Chalean Extreme DVD. Today is supposed to be a rest day from it, but since I took the last week off, I'll try to do the abs part (very short) today, then get back into it again tomorrow with Push Circuit 1. Last week of push!

According to my cell phone's GPS, tonight I took a 4.6 mile walk in 37 minutes....through the Gulf of Mexico.
In reality, I took a 2.2 mile walk in 37 minutes....through my neighborhood

I have been so bad this past few days. I just have been so sleep deprived that I just can't seem to put one foot in front of the other. I am really going to try harder this weekend!
