My Mom's Day is as busy as any Sunday around here, if not busier.

What are YOU up to for Mom Day this year?

I'll go to morning mass by myself, but then I'm heading to brunch at my grandmother's retirement home. I think it will be me, my mom, grandma, my aunts, and a couple of my cousins. It's always LOTS of gossip and chit-chat :) Then I'll head home and relax for the rest of the day with my cat.

Happy early Mom's Day to everyone!

Sunday School, church, lunch (probably quick at home or on the road) and 1.5 hours or so to my grandparents' assisted living apartment in SW Iowa. We'll meet Mom there and spend the afternoon visiting. I hope the weather is nice b/c the kids tend to be too crazy to be IN the apartment for long;)
I had Shutterfly books printed for Mom, Grandma, and my mother-in-law of a sampling of SB pages I've done over the last year. It's the traditional gift we give them each year...they seem to love it, and we don't have to think of something new each time. Win/win!

Happy Mother's Day!

I'm going to Charlotte to see Mark, Kim, Lucy and Campbell today and we will spend the night there and come back tomorrow to spend Mother's Day at home since I still have two boys here in town. We are celebrating Mother's Day in Charlotte tonight AND Campbell's 8th Birthday - we always celebrate Mother's Day and his birthday together.

It's a hard Mother's Day for Kim since she lost her Mom to cancer suddenly several years ago and her sister and family always come too and we always do something in memory of Kim's Mom too. Kim's Dad will be there and it's just a time when the family always gets together.

AND, I'm going to see the new house all re-built too! I'm so excited!

That's what I usually do, Belle, but this year my daughter decided to have us at her place. She doesn't have as much room, but we'll manage. I am going to help with some of the cooking because they (my daughters) always do that for me.

Yesterday the assisted living center where my step-mother lives had their annual mother-daughter tea. It was really precious! Then I took her to dinner at our favorite restaurant as an early Mother's Day celebration. It was nice and relaxed, and not crowded. She wears hearing aids, and appreciates a relatively quiet restaurant. Every year my sister, brother and I send her the Harry & David Mother's Day gift set of an orchid corsage and a small box of truffles. As she never had children of her own, she loves it!

I've requested a quiet day...no screaming, fighting kids. I'd like dh to make me dinner on the grill but other than that, just being together is all I want.

You sound like me, Carla. DH offered to make me whatever I want, I told him I wanted something the kids wouldn't complain about eating, and that I didn't want to do any dishes afterward. :D Quiet and low key sounds good to me. We'll go to church, but other than that, we'll be home.

I'll be going to church (playing handbell piece for offertory) and then we'll be going to my FIL's for dinner. I'm HOPING my son can make it but I haven't heard from him yet. I imagine my DD in California will call. No mom's left for me to honor.

I have to work on Sunday, so it will be a different Mother's Day. I may be able to get to church for a little bit, and I'll definitely see my kiddos...:) I'm sending some scrap pages to my Mom and we'll talk on the phone tomorrow.

I spent yesterday and today with my sweet son, Mark, my awesome daughter-in-law, Kim and my precious grands, Lucy and Campbell. We celebrated Campbell's 8th birthday with a party and also celebrated Mother's Day. It was just so sweet to be with my family! We cooked out last night and some friends and neighbors came over, the kids put on a play for us, and it was almost midnight when we came inside! We had alot of fun - Kim's Dad was there, we remembered Marie, Kim's Mom, whom we lost several years ago to cancer, and we just enjoyed each other!

The rest of the weekend we will be celebrating Mother's Day with #2 and #3 sons here in town with dinner out and just being together.

LIFE IS GOOD! I love my family! :) :)

Church in the morning and lunch at my house afterwards for the kids and grandkids. I got to see everyone the day before for a granddaughters birthday, so my son didn't drive up again on Sunday. He's a pastor and with services in the morning and services at night, there's not a lot of time in the middle to make the trip. The girls and their kids were here though and after lunch the kids played with squirt guns and bubbles in the front yard. Then a visit to my mom in the assisted living home and dinner out after. All in all, a very nice day.

Ooh! You play bells?! I'm looking to start up a group again here at our church. I've just been director here for about a year, and have had my work cut out for me, but there is an unused set of bells just aching to be played. I directed for 22 years at our former church and it would be fun to play again.

I have to take a picture of the needlepoint that my daughter sent me for mother's day - I cried - happy tears, but it just touched my heart so.

note to self: take photo of Mother's Day Gift from Debbie

Mom's day was a wonderful day for me! Flowers flowers and more flowers! And cards from the kiddos. My daughters took me out to lunch for some BBQ! That was great too!
