Well..at least you know your body Jen. Just look at this way..shred with us for 30 days and when we are done the weight will start coming off regularly for you. Angie and I talked about continuing with something else since have longer term goals. You can hang with us. Misery loves company! LOL

Absolutely. LOL! I love being accountable here. That definitely helps on those days I don't want to. Hopefully those days will be less and less and working out every day becomes habit again.

Checking in for Wed. Shredded. :) I feel my endurance getting better... although I still hate the first circuit of weights - that squat arm press one. But I can get through the first minute of that doing the full press the whole time now. Not getting through the 2nd minute with a full press yet though. :(
My weight has been fluctuating - one pound up then two down then one up, etc. My guess is that I might be building an actual muscle somewhere. Posted Image
After the initial water weight loss, I always gain weight when I start working out again and then start losing weight more consistently 4-5 weeks in. That doesn't bode well for me losing anything during the 30 days of the shred. :(

Jen, that just means we need to all do something together the NEXT 30 days too. :) I've been thinking that recently.
Lei et al, here are some thoughts on muscles and whether they should have a rest day during this video series: LINK

I did level 1 today, so all shredded and ready to go back to level 2 tomorrow.

It's 28 days to form a habit, right? Right before Dan was born, I was so good... had lost a lot of weight. Was at the best weight since college - going to the gym every day for about 18 months. Then we decided to have another baby (I had actually considered not having another baby because I was back on track weight wise). Hmmm... baby came... and I totally derailed. I never got back on track... that was 2004. I think it's time to "kick myself in the ****** quite literally". :)

I was doing great exercising every day until we went to Florida in April. I did great with my eating habits, too....until I came home. I hope I really get into the fresh fruit this summer. That will help!!

Keep going everyone! You are all so inspirational. We'll be the fittest digital scrappers on the web!

Tiza checking in for today - NOT doing my workout. I feel crummy. It started with a sore throat this morning, and now I have pressure in my throat, ears, head, and behind my eyes. My neck & shoulders ache, and I have no energy. One of my lovely aunts got me sick this weekend (two of them both have sinus infections). *whining over* So right now I am going to dish up a bowl of ice cream, update the chart, throw together my Thursday challenge layout, and go to bed.

Keep up the great work everyone!!! I'd also be willing to continue another 30-days (or more) if we survive these ones ;)

Oh dear.
It sounds like you might be coming down with something. Drink lots of orange juice or something with vitamin C. Get lots of rest. Praying you bounce right back, Theresa.

That's exactly how I felt. It came on Monday night and today I'm feeling better. It's not gone, but definitely better. And, I did the Shred today!! I thought about doing level II, but then I realized it's been almost a week since I did the shred video, so I went with level I. But tomorrow I will be brave and try the next one!

Take it easy, Theresa. Don't over do it. Get lots of rest and fluids!

I did level 2 today. I almost like it better than 1 this time around! I'm not happy with plank moves, but I did them!

I forgot to add that I did about 45 minutes of a pre-shred workout chasing my sons' goats back into the pasture...

Kim, now THAT sounds like good exercise! :) Maybe you should have done Jillian for warmup, then chased the goats? ;) LOL of course the goats would have all run off by then...

I'm done for the day. My shoulders and delts are still unhappy (not sore, per se, but not wanting to lift), so I did level 2 without weights today.

Yeah, the 'jump through fences and eat the laundry off the clothesline' kind of mammal seen in pastures of softy-type parents that gave in to their sons when they begged for 4-H goats...and years after the boys finish the project just what good are they? Note where the fence is in relationship to me and the goats...

I woke up very sore this morning and felt like I needed to constantly stretch and flex which I did. No shred dvd today but yoga instead and a walk. Sorry gals - I admire you all with your going on to level 2 ... I'm just not there yet. I wouldn't have thought that I would be sore today since I did the water aerobics yesterday, but we do a 15 minute segment using double sided hand paddles under water for the greatest resistance and it is flies, rows, and presses ... it is a strong workout! Anyway ... yoga and walking for me today.

Tried taking a walk tonight - only made it 16 minutes (1 mile). Too much pressure in my head & neck. So when I got home, I did a 30-minute yoga segment designed to ease neck & shoulder tension. That felt nice! That's about all my body can handle for today.

So Kim, I have someone to empathize when I tell you that my summertime detested chore was "grazing the goats." We lived in the mountains of Santa Barbara so we grazed the goats on brush on the other side of the road... imagine the fun of getting a whole herd to stay anywhere near you and then getting them all back in the pen when you were finished. :hit-head-with-hammer:

Must have been why fitness was never an issue when I was a kid.

April, I had moments when I thought I'd have to spend my entire day guarding my garden and flowers! I was even ready to call the high school to have them send my son home to help! Yes, I can empathize!

Way to go ladies! I'm pressing pause for awhile on shred. Ultrasound yesterday, MRI today. Nothing conclusive yet. Taking meds that make me dizzy. But hey, think I've lost a few pounds and look more fit. Hope to get back in soon.
