Midwest Meet Up-The Date Is Set!

Recommended Posts

la..la..la...again with the food talk. I guess I have plenty of time to decide if I want to be really good that weekend, or plan on being REALLY good up until that point so I can splurge some.

All I have to say Conda..is the candy corn and peanuts better stay at home. I'm not sure I could resist that one. LOL

LOL...that's too funny! I guess the Easter Bunny doesn't like candy corn, what's wrong with him?

For the SG convention I brought purple candy corn. I think it was cotton candy flavor? Or maybe mixed berry? I only find it at Halloween though. It should be in stores by the end of September. I'll keep my eye out for it.

I left Lei a message, but for those of you shopping air fare:

I've heard Tuesdays are the best days to find discounted air fare and I've generally found this to be true - so check today and see if your magic price is there!

The best I'm getting for MI is from Flint with layovers, but it's over $100 cheaper than Detroit with direct flights. Plus, on Delta no matter the distance, you get at least 500 miles per segment, so overall you get more miles even if you have a short flight to a bigger airport :-)

Angie, you are such an inspiration! I would hate to do anything that would derail your progress!

LOL! Oh yes, let's plan the menu NOW! LOL! I like fortune cookies:)

Hm...rhubarb isn't in season, so I'll have to choose something else to bring. Maybe my triple peanut "pizza" recipe...

Do tell! I had a PBJ pizza at a restaurant and it was delish....so what's this about triple peanuts...?

Triple peanut pizza: On a pizza stone, bake a huge peanut butter cookie (from edge to edge). Sprinkle chocolate chips on top, and let them melt and spread like frosting. Freeze until set (hope you have a big deep freeze;) Then spread peanut butter mixed with cream cheese, and top with chopped up Reese PB Cups. Delish!!

My sweet dh has given me the go-ahead to go to this meet - but I'm still thinking about it. I'm not nearly as talented as you girls and believe it or not, I am pretty shy in groups - it just sounds like such fun and I would love to meet all of you.

Just thought I'd throw my name in the hat for now - I would love to come!

I'm waiting for final final confirmation from the hotel, then I will post the contact number and link to online booking for our group!

Any word from our friends at Drury Inn?

As far as I know, we're still waiting to hear back.

If Conda is making the reservations through the Drury group planning office, they will send her some paperwork to sign first before the reservations are confirmed and rooms can be transferred to the individual guests.

That's so awesome, Sara! You really don't have to worry - oye if talent were a requirement, I wouldn't be signing up! As for shyness - you can be as quiet or participate as much as you wish and no one will think anything of it. What a very sweet DH!

THANK YOU, Michele, you're a sweetheart. I'm working on it - checking airline schedules, etc. Finances, etc.
