Hi There! Just wanted to pass along this info about printers and color issues mentioned in earlier posts. I have five printers. Regardless of the printer this works for me with the best results: I always open and then print my photos from within Photoshop Elements for best results. I use the Photoshop Elements color manager preferences selected to over-ride my printers settings. By default most printers are set to "auto-color-correct" in several ways, so each time the printers settings come up I un-check any of those settings. This controls the colors, lights & darks the best. I spent many hours photo enhancing & correcting for a customer and then did a test. The one printed within PSE using PSE color managed profiles turned out great. Then I printed out the same photo again but opened it using a generic "browser" and it was-way-way-too-dark and a big waste of ink and time. Also using the photo paper formulated for the printer/ink is very important and will yield the best results. Happy Perfect Printing :)

Wow! Thanks for the great tip! I had no idea I could print directly from PE and I'm often unhappy with printing at home.
Thanks for taking the time to share this.

I always print out of Photoshop too, for best results. And I certainly see where it's better to use the paper recommended for your printer.

Thanks, I did not know this and always print my layouts too dark. Will be doing it from PSE in future.

Thanks for sharing the tip. I re-printed a photo and do think the colors were more vivid with the manual color option in my printer settings.

I always print directly from either Photoshop or Indesign with great results for the most part! Thanks for bringing that up here.
